KuLongs Full proof germination technique

I know these forums are littered with guides, how to's, mines better ect...

But I just had to write this because I am in a writing mood and I want to make a post about it. So chill out and read how I germinate.

FYI, I am an organic grower.

Supplies I use:
092608-2215-themcdonald1.jpgimages.jpgCFL_450X600(7).jpg1x1x1.5cube_Lrg.gifmarijuana-seed-closeup-with-detailed-texture.jpg

1. McDonald's cup. If its a big cup, cut it in half. This is personal preference. My first grow started in a McDonald's cup and it is a personal ritual now. Fill this cup with your medium (soil in my case).

2. Water. For seedlings, I set my water outside in my water bucket for at least 24 hours before using it.

3. One CFL. I have added more CFL's for germination only for heat reasons. A 23w+ CFL is more than adequate to germinate any seed. Right now I am using an 85w CFL to germ an auto because its the only size CFL I have at the moment.

4. Rockwool cube. Just soak the rockwool in water and place it in your (soiled filled) cup.

5. Seed. Place your seed in the rockwool. You don't even have to cover it up. Just press on it a little to make yourself feel better. Check the rockwool cube every day. If it is a little dry, just sprinkle some water until the cube absorbs the water.

6. 24/7 light cycle. My seeds never see dark. Never. I go 24/7 all the way up through veg even. Only switching to 12/12 when I am ready to flower.

That's it! Pretty easy.

Don't think too much. Have fun. Seedlings are not as fragile as you might think. :peace:

*disclaimer
This is my way and not the only way. Also, I stole all the pictures above. Deal.

No problem man. It's a good, low stress (on you) method.

Man I love watching seeds crack. ;)

What no paper towels???

IF your $10 seed doesn't sprout, you just wasted 10 cents on an Oasis cube. And your totally missing out on the benefit of stressing an hours old seedling while you transplant it into an Oasis cube.

Not everything. ;)
I dig your method I'll probably even give it a try soon.

I'm with VICTORY.

Quick refresher. Photosynthesis - makes food for your plant, stores it, uses h2o, uses co2 etc. Respiration - Uses the stored food and energy, produces h2o and co2, etc.

Photosynthesis is light dependent, so it only happens during your lights on period. Respiration on the other hand is not dependent on light, so it happens during lights on and off. It's not that the plants "need to sleep", it's the fact that during lights out they're not pulling double duty. They can just work on respiration using the stored food and energy to grow big and strong!

Not knocking your method of growing, just explaining my reasoning behind using 18/6 or 20/4.

+rep for posting something informative mate. thanks
