Kush?

I have noticed lately that quite a few people use the term "Kush" to describe good weed - why is that? Should Kush be the new way to say "Chronic" or "crip" or "fire" or whatever other ways people say it? I mean people have so many different ways of saying their weed is potent, why not just be blunt about it?

Tonight a guy refused a joint only to pack a bowl
of his own weed and then proceed to smoke it, his own weed, solo.

This guy "Too Tall" has always bragged about "crippy". crippy this crippy that. every time
he is around the first thing from his mouth is "is this crippy? I can get crippy."

The first time he asked me was about 6 weeks ago. at that time I had just harvested Connie Chung, so
I told him no not crippy Connie. With a puzzled look and a nod he kept toking and nothing more was said.

Tonight the same TT was around and the same question came "is this crippy?"
once again I had Connie with me, so told him what he was smoking.

other blokes I have traded tokes with have offered praise or at least good sentiments about the weed being smoked.

this night, TT, after 1/2 a joint, just said "no" packed his own and smoked solo
without offering to any of the 5 or 6 other contributors. nothing else was said about weed.
i pocketed my 1/2 joint and moved on.

WTF? ok don't toke at all and be cool I can handle that. Smoking 1/2 my weed then
bogarting your own is not cool.:cuss::cuss::finger:

Have you ever been summarily snubbed?
Seems if folks just called it by name there would be no issue.
problem with that is too many haven't a clue what they are toking.

Yeah I agree - I went over to a friends house and he said he bought some "Kush" from some guy downtown - I took a hit - tasted like cat piss. "What kinda weed was that? bengal kush?(his cat has the bengal coloring) "uhm, actually I don't know what kind :)" *sigh*

Kush is region/strain specific. It's like people think if weed has a name followed by og it's great. Og is region/strain specific. People that call anything Kush or og are just dumbing everything down

The word Kush refers to the mountain system known as Hindu Kush that runs through Afghanistan and Pakistan. Many strains have genetics originating from the Indicas grown in those areas, one example being Reserva Privadas OG Kush, which is a cross of Chemdawg x {Lemon Thai x Hindu Kush, Pakistan}.

The name Hindu Kush first appears in 1333 AD in the writings of Ibn Battutah, the medieval Berber traveller, who said the name meant 'Hindu Killer', a meaning still given by Afghan mountain dwellers who are traditional enemies of Indian plainsmen.

It bugs the shit out of me when people say things like "I only smoke kush". Really? I wonder why I saw you smoking some tangerine dream last week... I hate how young ppl seem to think that "kush" is a indicator of quality. To any ppl reading that are guilty of this: "Kush" is the name of a strain of genetics. Just because you have some top shelf weed does not automatically make it kush. Read the label on your bottle/bag. Im sure it has the name of the strain you are smoking.
lets see kaendar left in sept, writtin joined in sept :eyesmoke:
