I've been curios since the first time I tried Chemdog...winter of 98 in Santa cruz. I never had ANYTHING like it. I couldn't get enough. Lip smacking...I couldn't stop smacking my lips and the buzz was something uniquely addicting. I don't really care what it's called or where it's been I have 20 G Kush Cuts I have no idea what they are. It would suck to spend $100 on the San Fernando Valley OG only to find that it's not any better than what I already have

I have this cut. It's the "oldest" in my stable, my first "keeper", and has cost me by far the most turmoil to acquire.

I began to grow my own with the assistance of a childhood friend. He had been shown "the way" by an old family friend, who also gifted him his most precious strain, with one caveat, "never give it to anyone". So, he stayed true to his word, but brought cuts to me for my first round. I didn't have a designated veg area, ignorant in the methods of cloning (at that point), but he still asked me not to try, or tell anyone that I had it.

After that first run, I, and others in our immediate circle, begged for the cut. We would always get clones with a "fine, here you go", but it would always be some random strain. One round, everyone in our circle (childhood friends and family) told me to toss the cuts I had in the early weeks of bloom because they had been given "bunk shit". I thought they were nuts, I didn't think I was growing the "real deal" (wasn't familiar enough with it to identify it), but I could tell I had fire in the works. In arguing with everyone, a close friend came to see what I had going on, and confirmed what I was thinking, I was on the verge of "making fire". When it was done, I knew what I had. He denied it, even when I brought him the finished product. My buddy had either given me the HPK by accident, or needed a few bucks (yup, selling friends/family clones), and figured nobody was taking cuts because of all the prior bs. This run was even better than the first.

Months passed, I tried to bug about getting it as often as I could. He finally caved, admitted that he had given me a bunch of the kids for that run, but he didn't have it any longer. He'd partnered up for a "money making op" and had taken his mom (the same mom for my original kids two years prior) over to the spot to make room for his personal spot. Things went South, the person he partnered with was pissed, and had the mom (and all of her offspring) on lockdown. I knew the guy, tried to call him. He knew that I was a lifetime friend of the person he was pissed at, so ignored my calls for a good few months. I left a message stating that I wasn't calling on my friends behalf, that I would give him info to get his gear on track. He called back. I was invited to the spot, got to check out mom, she was near death, the last batch of clones looked pretty rough. Verbally straightened out the bulk of his errors, and was gifted 4 clones. Two were worthless, but 2 had potential. I spent about 2 years working the stress out of her before blooming.

Sorry about the long winded story, but that's how I came by it. Even though I acquired it by other means, I still honor the "originator's" request.

This one cut that lots won't let go. You have to really find someone who doesn't mind cus I see many looking for this cut and they not getting it. Hell ain't too many even letting people know they have it lol so that just shows how good it is. I would love to grow it myself but I mainly would like to try the nugs first.

So you're honoring his wishes even though he hoarded the cut from his friends and family but let it out to a cash cropper in a heartbeat?

:P

It wasn't a cash cropper, it was someone that had absolutely no clue. He was certain this person couldn't clone, and didn't know anyone to pass it to.

It's not his wishes I'm honoring, it's the old-timer that gave it to him.

Someone that wanted to start a "cash crop", but without knowledge that didn't pan out. No cash crop, and this cut almost lost (for me).

Yeah he'd be over the moon some dude he doesn't know has his cut cuz the dbag he gifted it too wasn't worthy of it, crapped all over his wishes, merc'd out his prize to friends family and ultimately left it for dead in the hands of an even bigger dbag.

They're like a black hole, and I cant help myself from commenting into the void lol. I'm on the brink of ordering a pure Kush clone, trying to find out all I can about it.
The only way to find out is slam the hammer.
I’m happy with mine. Even if they are bred to something else and crossed back. As long as I don’t get herm and good smoke. I’m happy.
Everything’s a fucking hybrid. So I believe nothing other than the actual structure flavor and smell of the harvested cannabis. Names are only for identification I feel like. Terp testing is prolly going to take standards to an entire different level.
