You do not need cooling fans with (most) LEDs.

You completely wasted your time with the christmas lights. That kind of LED is nowhere near intense enough to do any good for plants.

LEDs can be placed closer than CFLs.

Most all of the commercial "LED grow lights" are hugely over priced. You get much better prices if you buy high power LEDs that are not marketed for growing but are virtually identical.

I plan to do a grow with all LEDs. I think that by adding a few UV LEDs, we can better induce flowering.

an entire reflectoor hood with LEDs filling it would rock, especially if they manage to get the grow lights into 2 colour LEDS so its just a switch over to change form blue to red
