dont use something thin like fishing line, it can slice a branch clean off, twine is ok but a pain in the ass to adjust. im using plastic gimp string... they are used to make these things1281012314012.jpg

1281010826248.jpg its easy to work with, i make slopknots at each end so it can be adjusted quickly, this is my first lst, its ridiculous how simple and affective it is.

i use green garden wire, it works great and is easy and fast. I drill holes on the sides of my buckets all around the top to anchor.

im growing in those 8" pots

click on this and you will see :weed: Journal Northernlights / Pure Afghani :weed:

so i could use that tiger twine stuff also then huh ?

this is how i got it down 1281015280606.jpg as she grows (about everyother watering) i adjust the lines to pull her down more, shes on my balcony so im trying to keep her as well hidden as i can. i have other plants all around her to help... i used twine but it was like a hemp twine and all stringy and it was a pain in the ass to adjust, it kept knoting up. for me plastic is the way to go

I like to use these "Binder Clips". Link below:
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/429431/Office-Depot-Binder-Clips-1-14/
You can get them at Staple's, or Home Depot (or just about anywhere!). They come in all sizes (I like the small ones) and grip real well to the rim of thin, plastic, pots. Each clip can hold several branches and they are easy to adjust (move or relocate).

I use "Paper Clips" (instead of string or twine) cut to various lengths to attach the branchs to the clips. Each piece of paper clip is bent into a "hook" on both ends. The various lengths of "wire" can be used singly or, in combination, to acheive any length needed. I also dip one of the "Hooked Ends" into Fingernail Polish a few times (it "builds up" into a thicker diameter, it's like padding for the branches!). I find this "Clip & Hook" arrangement to be less painstaking than constantly retieing all those friggin' knots!

i actually use candle wick lol, i bought a 100ft roll of it years ago to make some candles and never used all of it. it has a zinc core so it works like a twist tie but is covered in cotton so is soft on the plant. can cut it to the length i need and just twist once around the branch i want to bend and then again around the main stem near the base, can take my twist out and tighten as needed. its also reusable, just twist right off and hold for later.

I have small hooks located around my plants and then I just use some soft twine to make a lasso and adjust the string at the hooks. Works great.

I was once a boyscout so I tied a knot that you can easily pull to shorten the length but it won't let out. :bigjoint:
look at my face i am a man of the wilderness, i was too a boyscout...and soldier for many years. the twine i used was 99cents for 3 balls and would knot itself during unravel, adjusting a slipknot didnt happen easily very often
