LA Dispensary ban effective in 30 days?? City council votes 14-0....wow

I dunno, haven't been to a club for over a year, so I guess it's not gonna sink in until I hit a dry spell...Better make sure that doesn't happen, then. Just gotta pay extra special attention to my grow, now.

There are still clubs open in San Jose and Sacramento. According to this article I read, 182 dispensaries will be allowed to remain open in LA (the ones from 2007 or before) It still sucks and all but I doubt that any major cities in CA will be without *any* dispensaries from here on out. They're just thinning it out a bit..900+ in LA could be considered excessive by some (not me! :)), especially when a good number of them are sketchy shitholes. 970 clubs, each one making millions a year.... nearly a billion dollars of taxable money.

Do the math. LA's fuckin' broke and we're going to turn down all those taxes? Yeah, right. It's a little out of hand, but I heard that quite a few (almost 200) get to stay open.

IMHO, they are doing this because it's an election year. Obama didn't start fucking over med patients until this year... he went into the presidency saying he was ok with it, now look how the tide turns.

What I want to know is, who are the 14 people that voted? Are they all baby boomers?

This is what I will predict will happen within the next 12 months in L.A.

182 will remain open but now that is a smaller list to choose from for the DEA/IRS. The remaining dispensaries are going to have their records looked into and raids will come. That will scare some of the others into closing meanwhile there will be a moratorium on new dispensaries and the numbers will start to dwindle.

There will be a rash of delivery services that are going to pop up and the shadiness will begin.

There will be media stories of how some are getting popped for running an illegal co-op/delivery service and will face trafficking and distribution charges. These of course are the same people that were growing for/vending to the dispensaries that were shut down. Can you say plea bargain?

There you have your future in LA as my magic 8 ball sees it.
 
This means they will keep operating...ban or not, and some will get raided while others will be open as usual.

It really doesn't mean much. It's just part of the daily doge of the fed's. Nothing new here.
 
So tell me some one do they pay taxes on the MMJ they sell? or is it aginst the law to collect taxes on Meds??
Seems to me till all the Governments get their palms greesed their gonna shut us down, Just grow...
 
Based off the map shown the cities in los angeles that aren't apart of the city r culver city, santa monica, and beverly hills. I believe each of these areas have their own governing body so the laws of the city of los angeles cannot be enforced there. So any clubs in those areas will be allowed to stay open, idk if there r any in those areas though.

And what I think will truly happen is MMJ will be in limbo, then after elections the gov't will probably say they have a safe alternative that Sativex which is processed and controlled by the pharm co. and can be easily regulated and taxed and all the politicians can get their nice big payoffs from the companies for allowing them to make a legal version of cannabis while still allowing the gov't to demonize us ppl that wanna continue to grow and smoke natural cannabis and they can keep arresting us and paying guards, cops, and building prisons.
 
all the clinics in westside la area are closing down. they had police papers taped to the doors on the clinic..sucks. bye bye
 
They keep up with the trend their going on now the Clinics will have to be as big as a Wallmart store.
 
It's crazy how they're attempting to shut them all down, I know of a few people in the dispensary business, time will tell what happens.
 
The News just reported that LA City Council repealed the ban! They are hoping that the Federal crackdown will accomplish their goal of shutting them down.
