LABS vs AACT?

Are people using both labs and compost tea? Do these serve different purposes? If I'm building an organic living soil with compost and ewc's and watering periodically with compost tea, is there still a benefit to labs? I've read all kinds of discussion on each but never anything to indicate if theres an advantage to both vs one or the other

You mentioned EWC, do you have a worm bin going, or, is this store bought stuff?

I've found, that for me, FRESH VC works better than Labs or compost tea. Worms have some bacteria that are unique to their gut besides all the other beneficial microbes that VC contains. Besides going into the mix, I usually add fresh VC to dry amendments for top dressing. It's about all I use now for microbes & stuff.

If you haven't yet, start a worm bin. It is, by far, the most significant thing you can do for any sort of organic growing. Plus, the cocoons in the fresh VC pretty much guarentees worms in your pots.

The occasional use of LABs or compost tea isn't going to hurt a thing and if your soil is healthy, the populations are pretty much self sustaining and regulated.
