Large humidity fluctuations outdoors.

I'm wondering if large fluctuations in humidity, like from about 30 during the day to 90 during the night, can be bad for plants. One thing, it is typically windy or at least breezy all the time, so the humidity is dispersed to an extent. I'm a little concerned about bud rot. Will the high temps and low humidity during the day be enough to keep the plants some what safe from rot? Are they're other issues that i need to be aware of concerning humidity flucuations? Should I be worried about the high humidity at night, even with the breezes? I'm in Nor Cal so this must be a common weather issue with many CA growers. I never realized the extreme humidity swings until I started growing and paying much more attention to the the weather conditions. Just to let let you know, I know these reading are correct, I have a pretty good home weather station plus i check several weather web sites and all the readings match up pretty close.

Much of this is going to be strain dependent, growing some of these new strains that are indoor plants will scrub to the outside and your conditions. I live in similiar conditions where our average humidity year round is 94%, I move my plants inside every night. I also usually put them under lights for about an hour each day before lights out when they are in flower to ensure they are dry. Pain in the ass but have been fairly successful growing indoor strains in the sun. If you are in the ground I wish you the best of luck.

Our average humidity is around 50. The strains I'm growing are well suited for outdoors, maybe not THE best, but they've been know to give very good results outdoors and so far they are living up to that. As I've said I'm outdoors, some plants in ground others in pots but too big and too much hassle to bring indoors at night- that's completely out of the equation. I'm just wondering since daytime temps are very high and humidity drops pretty low will that be enough to keep my plants reasonably safe from mold/rot?

For me the biggest problems is the condensation on the plants at night, but if your strains are well suited then you will probably be fine. Here we get lots of nighttime rain so I adjusted my grow to 5 gallon containers just so I could move them at night. LOL being retired gives me a little more time to spend with the plants and good excerise moving them around. Best of Luck to you and please let us know how it works out.

I think it will be of 'most' concern, in the last 2 tp 3 weeks of maturity when you have to consider the flowers will be well developed and compacting leaving them suspect for possible rot and such type problems.

On the flip side, the plant will be well versed in dealing with such changes.. they are incredibly adaptable, and like most of us just hate QUICK change.. Grass has been growing in far more humid conditions than you have for thousands of years, it probably will continue to do so with your crop.. at the end if you see rot, just try and isolate and manage it...

Thanks for the replies. I think the constant breezes keeps condensation down to a minimum if not nil. I have yet to find any moisture on my plants in the early AM. Thanks for the heads up about keeping an eye out mostly during the last few weeks of flowering. I've got a pure Indica right now that's really stacking up buds and starting to bulk up, been flowering about 4 weeks maybe longer, full blown flowering for the last 3 weeks. Plus it's suppose to be a fairly fast finisher, ill keep an eye on it.
