LCD LIghts

Has anyone experimented with LCD lighting,
They use less power and i'm sure with filters ("gels")
one could focus on certain light spectrums?

I think you meant to say LED, I just noticed you said "LCD" lol. You may want to edit that.
Well, the problem with LED lights is they don't provide an array of colors like HPS do. But I bought a 50watt HighPower LED panel from HTG, only problem is my seedlings aren't starting yet, so I can't give any input yet (I will buy more panels once these are in soil). It is so hard to find anyone that has really given LED a chance, and most of the people that will slam an LED setup are the ones who haven't tried them. Not to mention, there are many different LED panels on the market, so results are going to vary for everyone. But for the reduced heat, less watts used, longer bulb life, in the end, there are Many benefits over an HPS setup. Be expected to pay more for an equivalent LED setup vs HPS, some companies are over-rating their panels, light the UFO light imho. If anyone has any real input from testing, please leave some input. It suxs looking for LED grows and finding none. Thanks! bongsmilie

LED Lights kinda suck right now. Don't believe the hype. Maybe 5 years or so they will be good stuff, but not now.

LED do not yet have the quantumn efficieny to be competetive with HPS lighting. The 5mm LED arrays have a very low efficiency, the high power ones are up to 16-20% efficient (HPS is more like 35%).

All of the LED grow light manufactuers are making BS claims as to how well their products work.
