day 12 of 12/12
white widow
temps from 64f to 78f
humidity 50 - 65 %
week 9 from seed

Plant leaves have these holes popping up. the tips are fine and the top leaves on the plant are not affected. It is just a few leaves just above the halfway point of bush.

The soil is fairly fertile, with lots of bone meal, blood meal, and some other compost and amendments added at the beginning of the grow.

I kind of figured it would have depleted the soil by now in a 4 gallon bucket.

I added 2 table spoons of bone meal before putting them in 12/12
I watered in with a 1/10th strength 15-50-15 mg on day 8 of 12/12

it has to be over fert, It popped up the day after watering and has been progressively worsening over the past 3 days

hmmm. Look under the leaves. Do you see mites? Black dots. Little critters? Soap and water will stop em.

What do you use as a reflector? If foil or a like item, stop. Could be burning in.

It could also be a bacterial infection. Do they stop at the veins of the leaves? If it is this, there is no cure. Cut out the bad parts with a steril something or other.

Do you use a foliage spray? If yes, then stop.

Good luck!

most likely calcium deficiency. if you can get something like cal-mag, that will probably solve your problems

Attached is a close up picture.

I'm going now to get a look under the leaf with a scope. I didn't see anything with a naked eye inspection.

Yes i have foliage fed a few times with a watered down solution of Schultz 8-14-9 and molasses. when i say watered down i mean you cant hardly see a brown tint at all, but i will stop now.

my reflector is the aluminum reflector that came with the light 1000w MH. inside of a glass bottom box with a fan pulling about 400cfm through a 7" line from outside. Completely sealed unit.

Thats not a cal def. I just recently went through a bad cal def. Try not feeding with that schultz stuff. It does more harm than good.

I have found this out; in my opinion:

organics is by far the best way to grow, but i will not be using it anymore.
I think organic gardening is still more of an art than a science, and can only be mastered with time.

-my next grow is in a high quality pro mix topsoil that had a neutral ph out of the bag that has no added nutes.

-seedlings at 14 days from seed are beautiful compared to my first run, plus my environment is under better control. relays and thermostats can work wonders for room control.

seedlings are center two rows

heres the product, you should be able to narrow down your diagnosis to a few things and if you still think its calcium you might wanna think about investing in this product. btw the symptoms sound very close to calcium def. most times it looks more rusty than plain light brown like yours. anyway best of luck bud and btw the garden looks great

I wouldn't use foliage spray anymore. After all it is a weed and will grow with minimal nutes. They don't need spray at all. Some ppl use it but don' need to. It looks like run off from schultz nute burn. Stop the spraying and use a carbo load or some molasses for the sugars.

Good luck and Happy growing!

I have seen the same thing in my garden. The only affected leaves were being directly blown on by a fan. So I assumed it was wind burn. Will keep an eye on this post for sure.

You know what, you may have nailed it. The foliage spray and fan combined may be the problem. I'm going to check now, but it seems like i only had a single leaf this way until i started turning the plant.

I'm reluctant still, though i am optimistic.

The fan is out of the question. Most likely netpirate knows her stuff.

by the way Netpirate; You hurt my girls feelings calling them weeds. They're southern girls; their feelings are easy to hurt.
