Leaf has yellow patches, advice please. 12/12 400hps short ryder

Hello everyone. Looking for some advice.

I have 4 Short Ryders going, under 400 hps in ProMix with Osmocote mixed in. All are exactly 2 weeks old today, under 12/12 from seed. Started under CFLs the first 2 days, then moved to the hps. This is pretty much my first grow. Have tried before, but shit came up and had to ditch em.

3 of the 4 look great and healthy (i think). Except for 1 of them has patches of a yellow-brown color. Im guessing this is a pH issue, but i am not sure. I plan on going to get a hygrometer ( and plastic saucers for the pots) within a couple days to check pH and help balance it out. Any advice or insight on my 1 ryder issue would be appriciated.

Thanks for the help.

A hygrometer is for temp and humidity.. u need a ph meter and calibration solution (as well as ph up n down)..I highly reccomend spending a bit on the meter bc the cheap ones.. well u get what u pay for I found out the hard way.

For ur patchy plant I can't really help but there r a few defeciency charts on the site. Or kust google cannabis def. Chart or somethin along them lines n u should b in good shape! Hope u get it figured out bro! Happy growing n good luck

The pic isnt showing much. 1st. start with water...do you let them dryout before water? My guess you should water every 3 to 4 days. Check the pot for weight full of water then when light noticable weight time to water. I suggest when you think its time to water....water the next day. These plants like to dry a bit but if the leaves start to drop you waited too long. Next nuts. they dont need any for the 1st month if that ffoforest soil with the nuts. hot. That should get you thru 4 weeks. I wont start with the nuts. cause if you gave them some you shouldnt.

Yea i was watering them alot. Probly too much since there is some food in the mix. Was curious why only the 1 though was acting diff.

But yea ill ease up the watering and check the pH of my next water or two . thanks guys. :bigjoint:

the one problem plant maybe has some of the nuts. that spiked in release. Got a little hot. Just water it normal. If it takes a turn to the worse flush it with 3 time the pot size in water. It may pull itself out of it cause it doesnt look bad.

what distance are you maintaining from the light. very important. for a 400 no closer then 12 inches with a fan and the heat being pulled out of the room. You will only get light pen. for good bud to about 24 inchs for a 400 watt. I have a marked ruller that I use to check regularly Moving plant height up and down with books and boxes so all plants are in the 12-24 inch zone. For your young plants I'd leave them at 24 inches from the light and let em grow into the 12 inch zone. That way they dont get bleached from too hot/close to the light. I only check ph of the water going into the plant keeping it 6.2-6.5 with or without nuts in the water.

I have them about 2 feet away, with a fan going.
Thanks for the advice :leaf:
