Leaf miners or leaf hoppers or what??

What ever it is at this point I don't really care that much and the plant doesn't care at all.(YET). I can't eyeball the little buggers when they are doing the dirty deed but there do seem to be quite a few leaf hoppers bouncing around so thats what I am guessing....

Any ideas? If it's an easy fix I'll do it now. I would just soap them but I wouldn't think hoppers would mind that and I doubt it would smother them so what to do??? Thanks.

In my best Dr. Evil voice.... "Toss me a freakin bone". Does this look like leaf hopper damage or something else :?:

I "thought" I knew what Neem Oil was but a google reveals I had no idea. I thought it worked along the same lines as an insecticidal soap and suffocated the little bastards but I wasn't even close. It's easy to kill insects but it's a question of how harsh you want to be. I know I have an old bottle of miathalon or diazinon in the shed and that shit will kill anything that even dares to look at it but man are they toxic!! Even smells dangerous.

Has anyone used Neem oil for the sole purpose of controlling powdery mildew and does it work? If you do use it for mildew to you use it preemptively or after it the mildew appears? The Google also finds sources that suggest adding either rubbing alcohol or mild soap to the neem oil but the instructions for using by/from the manufacturers do not:?: Thanks....:D

I am having similar problems with my leaves. Would be good to get some insight on this. I have personally been using Fungicide (from Wal-Mart) that has neem oil in it, but to no avail. I don't know what to do either. Hoping whatever it is, it stays out of my buds.

Well, it seems that noone has any input on this. Lol. Well, I guess we're both going to have to ride it out and hope whatever it is eating our leaves, won't get into our buds. Good luck to ya bro.

No Chit eh dodson. WTF are you going to do.:D I just went straight to the Neems oil. Leaf hoppers were a listed pest it controled and I think that's what my problem was. You should google Neems!! It's actually pretty cool stuff which is squeezed from the seed of the Neem tree. Go figure:D I thought I knew my tree and shrubs but I guess not.
:leaf:
Powdery mildew is also a "potential" problem for me and apparently Neem oil works as both a preventative as well as a cure. You might want to get some straight Neem oil if you using sumpin toxic not that I am afraid of poisons, the taste just might suck. Let me know how you make out.

The Neem tree!!! Well Well Well...........I wonder if it's hardy in Zone 6B?

I am using Fungicide brand spray from Wal-Mart that contains Neem oil. It says it's organic and good to use up til harvest. Though I doubt I'm gonna spray that long on my girls. The stuff I have now lists hundreds of different insects that it kills. It's a fungicide, pesticide, and another -cide in one. It's in a green and purple bottle. I'm gonna go down to the local Tractor Supply Co and see what they got in the way of organic pesticides. Don't wanna smoke something toxic.

dodson my friend it's sounds like your all over it! What your using is probably just fine if it says it's organic. Like you say, no need in using it right up to the end or at least I hope not. I have smoke a lot of toxic shit but I would hate to spoil the taste of my buddage.:-(
Hartford N.Y. I think it was. Ended up there while hitch hiking around and stayed a year. Was a good year with a weekly trip into Glens Falls. A dairy farm/commune with a lot of hippies.:D

When is your first frost expected and what are you growing? You gotta be finished by the first of October don't you?:D:D

I would love to agree that I'm all over it, but am still seeing chewed leaves, like the one's pictured above. That's why I'm wondering if there's anything I can pick up at Wal-Mart, HD, or TSC that will do better.
I am familiar with the Hartford area, though I live nowhere close. I'm in St. Lawrence County, right on the River. This being my first outdoor grow, I'm not sure when I'm expecting the first frost. My cousin says usually he harvests on the first weekend in October though. I'm gonna keep a real good eye on mine around that time to determine if they're ready or not.
