Leaf questions.

I noticed most plants leafs turn a light green when they are harvested. Why is that?
I also notice alot of people trim all leafs that dont contain buds and only leave buds on them is that a good thing or a bad thing? should i do that to mine or no? Would that make most of its nutrients go straight to the bud or just mess things up?

The leaf is turning light green or possibly yellow when the plant is harvested because the nitrogen is being drawn out of the leaves and being sent to the bud. This is why most growers stop feeding nitrogen well into flowering and flush the plant with only water for the last few weeks so there is very little left over nitrogen. An abundence of nitrogen in the left over plant will just make the buds taste bad.

I have an outdoor crop. The seed was a seed i found in some bud i smoked so i decided to plant it. I waited till flowering season to see if it was male of female. I got lucky to have a FEMALE :) We are on our 7th week of flowering and ive been giving her a gallon of water with a tablespoon of molasses everyday for the the past 3 weeks. I think it will be done in a good 3 weeks. In the last two weeks should i just give her like 2 gallons of just water a day?DSC00586.jpgDSC03370.jpgDSC03383.jpgDSC00591.jpgDSC03372.jpgDSC00588.jpgDSC03376.jpgDSC03384.jpgDSC00584.jpg

Molasses doesnt contain macronutrients i.e. nirtrogen/phosphorous/potassium. The reason for the mollasses is that it's a great source of carbohydrates, or sugars, which the plant absorbs making the bud taste sweeter. It also contains micronutrients that arent quite as important but definately needed in the plants life. If youre worried watter two gallons every other day and stop using molasses about 5 days before harvest. Peace

You probably one to read the back of a molasses bottle then retract your statement OP you should be fine just flush for a week or two before you harvest

i would say take all the leaves that dont have the sugar on them off, then before you start the cure, you can trima ll the sugar leaf off of the buds, which will release terpenes and make it smell danker during cure

first remove most of the leaves that dont have any noticeable trichomes, and u can decide to throw those away or cook with them. Then hang them up with the "sugar leaves" still on and trim those off before you jar.

Herb... What exactly are you talking about lol. seems like you misunderstood my question. I think that you thought i was asking of what to do with fan leaves when im manicuring the bud.

haha its cool man but um i was meaning to ask like should i be removing leaves from my plant while in flowering phase?

no, they are energy for the plants bud growth. Were you asking that to get fatter buds that are in the inner canopy, or what? And i believe that alot of leaves should already be falling off, due to the natural maturation process.
