Leafs dying quickly, rusty blotches.

Strain is OG, Roots Organic potting soil, runoff in the low 5's, low i know, but it comes out of the bag like this.
After a very mild flush, the necrotic tissue started showing as dots and blotches along the veins, so I dissolved a couple tbsp dolomite with a gallon of water and applied, still a low runoff ph, the blotches continue and merge to form larger ones that eventually eat up the leaf.
Affected area starts as dots on veins at the leaf tips, middle and lower leaves, working its way up
Any suggestions?

Whats up my fellow ganja buddies? Ok guys this is my first grow and i came across an issue =( my plant is 3 wks old and its starting to show yellow/brownish spots and im thinkin it might be insects eating my roots but i really dnt know. And it is ch9 green bud. I cnt post up pics right now because im on my phone.but i will asap. Hit me up guys i need sum help dnt wanna hurt my har est.

I am familiar with the effects ph has on nutrient uptake, but my problem is the dolomite lime isn't significantly alkalizing the soil ph.
For a quicker delivery I dissolved the lime in water, then watered. I don't want to get too crazy with adding even more lime for fear of ruining this plant even more.

Can anyone share any experience with adding large amounts of lime?
Can you overdo it?
Whats the next step if a handful of lime per gallon doesn't raise it sufficiently?

I imagine anything can be overdone, I once had a P.H of low 5 as well and had gotten Cal/Mag Def rust spots on my leaves. I grabbed a couple pinches of lime and top dressed the soil lightly and sprayed the plant down with Epsom salt and started watering with it and within a wk or so I was back on track...

i have had this problem and it tormented me through a whole grow. I tried two tsp of epsom salt and problem went away after a week! good luck man

Two things, Most of the "root eaters" will hatch as gnats or little fruit fly looking bitches, so if you dont see them, and there is nothing of note in your substrate then look at your PH first man. People underestimate PH, but if you go above or below that small range you get lock outs in your feed. Always start there with discolorations, or weird growth. See what happens is that maybe you do have a deficiency, but it's the PH that makes the plant unable to absorb that nutrient, or micronute. The medium is probably loaded with the shit building up, unused. So always check PH first, it can really save you a ton of time, and worrying. Not to mention the unproductive nature of trying to fertilize yourself out of a problem that is purely based on PH levels, and not your nutes at all!

Second thing; you need to post pics. People who read this sight have prolly seen it all man, and a picture of a sick plant with a detailed description of your set-up will normally get things solved pretty damn fast!

Dank, As I said earlier, I do understand the importance of ph, but the problem is about my soil ph not being raised adequately with my lime treatment, and what to try next.
I did post pics.
I havent fed yet and the plant is newly transplanted so it is unlikely theres buildup already

well usually on the bag of lime they have it calculated how much lime you need from your Current P.H, Like I said I probably grabbed 2Tablespoons full maybe 3 and top dressed my plants that are in 6gal pots. It corrected the PH fine.

Maybe just plain old baking soda. That will raise ph to 7. Add two tablespoons to a gallon of water and see how it looks in a couple of days.

No man it was because some other guy just asked a random question (xxganjabus??) without pics. I was just high i guess and answered it! I even quoted him. Kinda funny actually, it was like a thread within a thread. Sorry man for any derailment.
