So thoughts right now include a 5x5 for the 6 flowering plants and a smaller tent for clones/vegging. Probably smaller than a 4x4. How does that sound?

That sounds great I have a 5x5x8 space that i both veg and flower in but I wish I had space to add a seperate clone/veg area. I have to many inlaws, its funny how at first you think your just marrying your wife but soon find out you committed to her whole damn family. They are slowing my passions progress.

I wouldn't mind using that layout, but it's only a 4'x4' and that's too small for 6 plants. Plus the section uptop is under 2ft tall so I figure it's pretty useless for growing clones more than 2" tall.

4x4 is 16 square feet. SOG (Sea of Green) is a plant pert square foot - so there's usually exceptions. Probably right about the top though.

there isn't a snowflakes chance in hell that 16 healthy plants are growing in a 4'x4' hah. They'd be all wrapped up

Give me a minute to read this, but thank you. This could very much change my perception of my current situation.

Okay it sounds interesting, but would i don't think it would really work with a limit of 6 plants, am I right? I'm also very obsessed with quality and I'm assuming that method would result in the best. I may not be giving myself enough time with the idea of 2 harvests a month.

Man, if you have room for a tent then you must have a room. You have a med card, don't have to be so secret. Get yourself a 600 hid set up, go to lowes, home depot, be creative with a room and buy some materials. few sheets of plywood and so on. Wish i was in your position.

i say stick to the basics and you'll be surprised how far it will get you. grab a t5 for veg. for flower, 600w is good to start out with and will cover a 3x3 area efficiently, 1000w for a 4x4. for your medium i would recommend a soilless mix ie promix or sunshine #4. as for nutes, i would suggest you do some heavy research before investing into any company.

I'm a student so I definitely need the transportation ability that a tent will provide. Going from rental to family to different rental and so on.

I can have 12 female non flowering plants, and 6 flowering. The idea I have right now could be 2-3 mothers, (unlimited amount of legal clones), 3 vegging, 3 older veg, 3 flowering, 3 older flowering.

so 11-12 female non flowering and the last 6 flowering. Now I need to figure out the infrastructure of it. That and time frames between all these steps.

Most argue that soil is more quality. The only other argument is that you can get the same product from both but never better from hydro. When you pick your seeds just check out leafly.com for what they treat the best and how they make you feel and then base your choice of strain on that. Also go to the seed and strain review forum and lurk in there for a while and pick something stable and easy to grow and DANK. Look up the Secret Jardin DR90T or the DR120T That way you get a tent with a little veg/clone/seedling chamber and a flowering chamber. If your growing just for you and yours. Go with soil. It takes a bit longer to get as good of results but when youre dialed in you will be pushin out the good shit.

https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/521722-oriahs-garden-supersoil-tga-perpetual.html is a dude I know that shows a scrog on a play by play basis. He does his screen high but I would do it low that wy it is quicker to fill.

GEt a 400W Ballast and a Metal Halide and a High pressure sodium bulbs. Get a fan and a carbon filter and one thing of flexible ducting and you will be golden. PM me for more info. I got to roll out cuz my old lady called my bitching but I could talk you through a sick whole setup if you want.

The Jardin's are pretty useless IMO I don't really get the point of them. If you had a bigger operation and for some reason use of a whopping 2' tall room? Once the lights are in there I couldn't imagine fitting clones in there. Maybe a seed kind of room or something with mothers underneath? I'd love to be convinced otherwise not trying to sound hardheaded, but I dont really get the point

oh and for the SCROG method I dont think that would work. I'm allowed 6 flowering and 12 non flowering plants. From what I read it's more of a SOG have a boatload of everything method.
