So i just bought a dryer (for clothes) only to find that this stupid old house doesn't have a outlet for it. Its a big 3 prong one. I don't know how to go about rewiring a regular outlet for this or if thats how u even go about that but id like to learn and try it myself before i waste money on a electrician. What do?

I would imagine that your house is setup for a gas dryer? Why you no get gas dryer?

Don't mess with the outlet, get a new plug for the dryer. Take a pic of the outlet and go to home depo, it should be about $20 and just screw the old one off, new one on.

show us a pic of the outlet, before you fuck with it.
Also a pic of the circuit or fuse box and high light the exact circuit in the box

I want the video of the change out fuck still images.
PS do not do this like a selfie when the tetany hits you'll ruin the video, so set, the phone/camera, free standing and leave a note for the first responders to upload here for us.

you need to have a new line ran from your breaker box to your dryer, it needs the proper size for the distance and amperage/voltage required by the machine. hire a pro.
