Leaves curling - Help please!

Hey RIU,

I have some 1.5 week old sprouts and they have a bit of leaf curling. I'm using 3 CXA 3070 DIY cobs. The heat did get up to 88 for a few hours 3 days ago but is normally 77-81. I just transplanted them into 3 gals last night so they're in fresh moist soil. Still haven't really improved. They were completely dried out at the time of this picture.

Too much light?
Did the heat hurt them?
Under watered? Over watered?

Oops sorry!

They're being watered with spring distilled water (bought) and have had one .5 strength round of fertilizer from the General Organics GO box. I was told I don't need to PH with that line.

Give it a little time to adjust to the transplant. I'd dilute the ferts. in half again on the next watering. You will be alright as long as they don't start dropping half it's leaves.

  • They're still quite curly today and there is a tiny black spot on the edge of one leaf.

Lights are at their maximum height (2.5-3ft away from canopy) and heat is consistently at 75.

Should I take 1 of the 3 lights away? Any other suggestions?

I'll post pics tonight when I'm home.

I'd leave all the lights on. Give them a little wind "little" to simulate outdoors... When they are healthier they can take more wind from an oscilating fan...

I had low RH which imo doesnt cause issues but when I got it up (about 40%) it sure helped. They should bounce back, just research on forums and you'll be alright. Im on my first grow, floeering week 4 now and am very excited.

Keep it up.

My humidity is now around 50%. It was lower for a while but the bigger pots keep it up

Here's new pics. Plants are still growing but the leaves are still curly and dry. Oldest leaves were hit the worst while new growth is looking better. Lights are now 3+ feet away.

My suspicions are that I used 1/2 strength ferts too early, the lights were too close, and I misted a bit with water which would intensify the lights even more.

Do they need a flush? Any suggestions?

Don't flush, just sit tight... I noticed your temp monitor says its 59 degrees.... If that is right you need to get them as close to 75 as you can. They will live to see another day and should be a little better each day.

That's my humidity :P Temp is right at 75 consistently.

Worried about flushing since the pots are real wet already and I don't want to overwater.

I think I did over fert though.

I don't want to hijack this thread but i have a curling problem that I think is plant related. In other words, it's only the one strain (AK-48) every time I edit the smiley face and tell it it's supposed to be an 8, it comes right back) that's curling a little. My Pure Power Plants and the freebies are growing just perfectly. I haven't found anything online that has to do with specific plants curling and some not. Do I take the curling ones out? I've already rearranged them thinking they were too close to the light but it didn't seem to work. HELP! They arent curling bad but I'd like to catch them at this stage if something is wrong.
