Ok so my plants are about 4-5 weeks old in veg. 20 AK47 clones. They are under a 600 watt hps and 400 watt MH. About 3 weeks ago my leaves started to curl as you can see in the picsa almost like claws. So i thought i may have given them too many nutes so i havent fed them nutes in 3 waterings and the new growth is still curling/folding. The temps are always betweek 70-80 degrees humidity is about 30%. Fox Farms oceans forest soil with very light botanicare grow and liquid karma nutes. Water resivoir that bubbles water for at least 24 hours before plants recieve it. So my buddy and the guy at the grow store think it is the first signs of powdery mildew. So yesterday i sprayed them right when the lights went off and plan on spraying them in 3 more days. The spary i got is not harmufl to the plants at all. COuld this be powdery mildew? The ph out of the tap is just under 7 where i live so i do not mess with the ph. Altough i do not have a meter(i know i need to get one) BUt my bud room gets the same water and those things are jammin no leaf curl at all. These plants are 2 feet out of the buckets and time to flip so i have to solve this problem. Someone PLEASE HELP

It look like magnesium deficiency to me add 1tsp Epsom Salt per gallon and that should do it. If you are going to move to bigger pots you could just add a little lime to your soil mix also.
You don't ph bal your water and if you have hard water it will cause mag def and leaf curling.

Nute lockout comes from the PH either being too high or too low.I'm not sure about the mildew sorry. Yes you can add the Epsom Salt with the nutes or use foliage spray but the very best way to make sure your plants are able to retrive those nutes from the soil is to PH bal everything. Truly without the right PH bal your plants will most likely suffer some kind of difficiency weather it be N or P or K and any trace elements it needs more than once during your grow.

alright guy i just went and bought a electronic ph meter and mixed all of my nutes and water together and got a ph of 5.0. So im guessing that was the problem and was causing my leaves to twist. i added ph up and fed them with the ph at 6.3. Should the curling stop on the new growth now? thanks guys

Get an RO system($200). and cal mag... You will never have issues again..

it might take some time because u r using a rich organic soil which doesnt flush well.

make sure from now on u add water with the same ph everytime. keep it at 6.2..... u might shock ur plants because u went so high from 5.0. You will know if ur plants growth slows to halt, and u see red stripes form on the stem(idk how this stands with the rest of the community, but personal advice, assuming they are not there already. I would have raised the ph slowly over the course of 3-6waterings. but u went ahead and did what u did.

it is not mildew. it is a ph problem and u r lucky because ur plants arent really showing any signs of lockout, or any imbalance. maybe u solved the problem, but u might not be out of the woods yet.

Also, how much did u spend on the ph meter, and what company makes it? Also did u properly calibrate it with the solution they give at the store?

The reason i say get an RO system is tap water has a lot of shit in it that takes up available space for the good nutrients they u put into your water

It should take care of it give it a week and see what happens. Did you flush your plants with Ph bal water?

i didnt flush because i have not fed them nutes in almost a month. i dont know if that matters. but these need to be flipped as they are getting over 2 feet tall out of the soil. so i was told by the guy at the grow shop to adjust the ph and all of the new growth should be fine and the old growth will always be curled but no big deal. I have to change the light cycle in 2 days so i will keep my eyes on them. the funny thing is even though the plants are curling they are still very nice color green and everything looks great on them just the curling. Also my budding room has 5 ft tall plants almost done and they have been getting the same water and thos leaves are fine. i find that a little strange.
thanks again guys

No not if you haven't been using nutes for a month you shouldn't have a nute build up. They should be fine

ok every plant in that room is at least 2 feet out of the soil so i need to flip em. I fed them with nute and ph balanced water yesterday. Am i ok to put them into my budding room. will these plants still produce heavily in the bud stage since i think i have fixed the problem.?
thanks

your yield may suffer a bit but you can still watch them and work on them in the early stages of flowering. if you gotta flip because of size restraints then do it. always another harvest.
