Just wondering whats going on with the seedling, think its around week and half old. i have not watered it yet as the 1gallon pot is still heavy and the top layer is still moist. its also happening to a couple of my bigger plants that are next to it under a100w led light. most likely with the bigger plants is that they are under watered if anything, the leaves are not turgid. its been 16 days and ive watered them only 3 times but the pots dont seem to be losing a lot of wieght and the top layer of soil is remaining moist so i dont see any signs that are saying i need to water them. ive scanned around but tbh i am new to this and would appreciate some advice from someone with a bit of experience cus im stuck. these are autos btw.

Hiya blakjak, I'm not an LED Grower(Yet) but if the Pots are still Heavy & soil still moist DON'T water anymore...Babies only need a little..Also how far from Tops of Plants in (") is your LED..like I said not a LED Grower yet, but have read some peeps Burning Plants by having too close?

Hope you sort?

Peace

Sometimes the first set of true leaves do some funny things. I would keep on as you have and monitor new growth. I have a feeling you do not have much to worry about at present.

well the lights are positioned 8inch above the seedlings and ten above the bigger plants to get a better light distribution. humidity is averaging 50% atm and temerature is mostly 20-25 degrees (68-77F) during light period but it has got up to about 34 (93F) sometimes because im running lights through the night and i either leave the fan on and watch the temp drop to about 10 (50F) by mornning or turn it off and it goes to 34, give or take. shit! thats starting to make sense, maybe im cooking them at night? if I am cooking them would it just be ok to let the temp drop to 10 in the light period or should i look to find a way to increase temp?

Listen to this man, for he speaks words of wisdom....back your lights off man. Clear tell tale sign of LED burn.

It's ok to let your temps drop during the dark period

I think the Ph is ok but il check again, cheers bondoman. what do you think a good distance for the led is shaded420? i was of the belief that you could get l;ed's to about 4" in a well ventilated room without getting burn? plus is it not possible that the effects on the leaves are just from excessively hot conditions and not direct burn from the led? i mean you can hold your hand pretty close without feeling much heat.

You don't judge LED distance from holding your hand up to your light - you judge LED distance based on your plant tips micro-curling upwards as a result of your lights being too close. With that being said, each LED has a different distance that is optimal to use and the plant is obviously more fragile in its younger stages.

Area 51 might be 16" and Hans might be 4", just as an example.

LED is a HUGE advancement over CFL Technology, and IF the Grower researches and reads up before starting, even just checking Forums like R.I.U. to see what other LED Growers(With Experience) are doing with their Panels...would probably save a Newb a lot of hassle...Nothing "Cheesy" LOL!! about CFL or LED...and even Mh/Hps systems have to be height adjusted(unless you have separate Grow Rooms 1 for Veg and 1 for Flower and know the Strain you are growing very well)

Lots of People are Lazy and assumption is the Mother of ALL Fu*k ups!

Peace

EDIT: From a Future LED Grower, still adjusting his Hps and still Learning....

Right, I just tested the ph with all my plants and most of the ones with curling leaves have a ph of 5. Do I just buy ph up and start using that to solve the problem. Strangely the ph of the seedling in the pic is with curling leaves is 7, which from what I've heard is pretty good level. Cheers for mentioning ph bondoman, was thinking that was the last thing it could be. On the subject of ph, how often does it fluctuate in a grow. I was thinking it was really quite an uncommon occurrence. Guess I'm learning. Cheers for response everyone, very helpful. :peace:
