Man is this your first time growing? If so ditch the hydro till you learn the basics of what your plants are telling you...not to mention you have to keep up with your res and make sure your PH is 5.8 and your roots aren't hanging too low or too high, whether you have a bubbler or an ebb and flow it's alot of work...when soil on the other hand, mixed with enough perlite for good drainage and oxy flow will practicly grow the plant for you.....
Now for your question, in order to help you better you need to state your PH, your lighting etc...but you're not supposed to feed "until" the lil round leaves ((cotyledons=food/energy for the seedling)) start to wilt and can no longer feed the seedling and IMO starts your vegetative state when you start introducing nutrients a lil at a time...starting with 1/4 strength or less, and working your way up...it sounds like you have fed too early and it's dieing from too much love and expectations...I don't mean to sound harsh but did you read up on how to run a hydro system, and what your PH has to be and when is it recommended to start feeding your younglings...wow...but anyhow it sounds like too much nutes, back off the nutes completely and make sure your PH is a steady 5.8, make sure your aerator is working properly, and the just the tips of the roots are being "splashed"...good luck, welcome to RIU and I hope you have thick skin :bigjoint:

I hope your seedling is in a jiffy plug or rockwool cube, and not just tossed into the pebbles bare root. Your PH is critical, and as Riknstein states, VERY light nutes for the next 2 weeks. Peace

the guy in the shop said u could put them straight in the pebbles.. not good then?? i have a 600watt its about 2ft from the plant ph was 5.8 last night, but wen checked this monrung was closer to 7.. does this usually happen?

what do u mean by roots hanging to high or low? they r in 11l pots.. i have used a hydro before but i was more of a 'helper' then the grower,

by the sounds of it was have classed it as vegging to early and over fed? would feeding it plain water bring it back in that case ?

the airator working properly? do u mean the pump in the water or the fan in the room?

**sorry if i sound dumb but there r 2 of us doing it and other half has gone out.. he started the thread im just trying to stop him kiling them lol

Aerator is the air in the water.
Its a seedling for a week or two atleast.
Rockwool is a must for Hydro.
Good Luck

I've never measured the fert level in my grow but I go with 1/6 per gallon as what the instructions say for dirt for my budders. the spent water goes to my moms and it's used to do all the green. My neighbor uses the drip system and when he's successful he does really good. Unfortunately his system fails him more than it succeeds. I put my seedlings in for bud in my flood and drain table as soon as the first adult leaves appear. Never any problem.

I cut my rockwool from slab. 2" x 2" h". Be sure to get the correct side up. I use nails to make the holes and I leave them in the cubes while they are soaking so I haven't any problems knowing which side is up.

IMO...you should never put your plants to flower until their nodes start to stagger instead of being straight across from each other, this shows maturity and you will have either female stigmas (pistils/lil hairs) or male sacs (balls) on little stems showing pollen sacs ready to open...remove males and put females to flower at this point (usually 6 to 8 weeks veg time)
bump! i need some advice asap what should i do with my plants 2 save them?
Well, buddy I'm a noob too, but I read alot...and my advice is to get some ffof or MG potting soil, get some perlite and mix it 50/50...this will make you have to water more often simulating a soil type of hydro (fresh water/nutes and plenty of aeration more often) and there are nutes in the soil so you can just water more often...and while you are growing in soil (that is more forgiving) you can read and research hydroponic growing so you know what kind of water is best (r/o water=reverse osmosis) and you have to have PH up/down and special nutes made for hydro (usually liquids, but will say on label) man there's soooo much you didn't think of, including the cash to set it up properly is going to be outrageous...man I'm rambling, so get youself some soil and learn to read what your plant are telling you before you go to anything else...best advice I can give, but whatever you do good luck and read man...the internet is full of knowledge and google is my friend...that's how I found RIU...peace...

Well you can't submerge your roots in the water, and they can't be so high that they're not getting anything...so there's a happy medium for them to be in......and yes the aerator pump that oxygenates your res water...lol...and you guys have already broke commandment no1...never grow with a partner, unless they're your life partner :bigjoint:then it's all good...

lol that was my wife so yea she is a life partner also iv actualy spent over £500 buying everything i need so money aint the problem like i said befor i done it befor with a freind of mine but i litraly just phed the water n added feed when needed so i didnt actualy grow it i was just helping

ps. do you think i just take the plants that look like there dying and put them in soil? 2 try save them?

i would. replant them in soil, fox farms happy frog or ocean forest soil. leave them in that for a solid 3-4 weeks and let'm veg out before adding nutes, the soil base has plenty of food in it already. Also look up blue mountain organins nute line. It's the best shit out there for beginners in my opinion, just be sure to also use CalMag+ with it.

Transplant them into soil. Find a soil with no added nutrients/time release. Something like this: http://www.lowes.com/pd_210540-79138-TOP1G_4294707958__?productId=3142103&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1&currentURL=?Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&facetInfo= Let the plants get established, then decide whether you are going to go organic or use chemical salt fertilizers. Have you ever grown anything? Cannabis is just a plant with the same needs as any other plant. If you are new to growing, as bad as I hate to tell you to do this, you may wanna try using Miracle Gro or something similar. General purpose 10-10-10 or thereabouts. Just use it a 1/4 strength working up to no more than half strength. Many will tell you that Miracle Gro won't work, is bad or will kill your plants. I've seen way too many successful grows using it to tell you that. I'm strictly organic and detest chemical ferts, but I'd rather tell you how to use MG successfully and see you succeed than try to confuse you with a lot of rhetoric.
Hydroponics is a very technical method of growing, and I do NOT recommend it for newbies. Keep things simple at first. Concentrate on keeping them alive rather than growing out perfect plants. THings will come to you the more you grow!

Just a Little Update thanks 2 all suggestions given i done a littel research of my own found out it might be due 2 over watering as i had my drip system on 6 times for 15min in 24 hour period my leaves seem 2 be gettin colour back as iv put the time on 2 4 times a day for 15 mins

im using organic bio grow (1.8-0.1-6.6)
medium Hydroleca (clay pebbles)
system 4 pot wilma dripper system (with airstone and pump)
600wt hps
Ph is 5.7
room temp is a constant 78.8 fahrenheit or 27celcius
royal queen seeds - critical

Well If ya have the money...can ya loan me a few bucks...lmfao...no seriously, if ya got some extra cash this is what I use https://www.rollitup.org/organics/539844-subs-supersoil.html it does everything for you...it feeds, buffers your PH to perfect, all you have to do is water...but like I said, I add perlite at a 50/50 mix with the soil...then all I do for 3 months is water (in veg)...once I put them to flower I use Humboldt Organics and it's pretty much a carefree/trouble free way to grow big beautiful plants with big yeilds...I get 6ounces + off each plant, and last time I grew 30...so the math says 180 ounces, but I pulled a little over 200 on my last OG#18 crop....here they are in all their glory...lol...I love showin my girls off :bigjoint:

Back when I used veg nutes it was best to find an even keal nute/fert like 10-10-10 NPK value...but I've never actually done a hydro set-up...lol...but I studied it because that's the way I was going to go, but then I found SUPER SOIL...lol...and I never looked back :bigjoint:...good luck with whatever you do buddy, just know we/the community are here to help anytime you need it man...and wife...lol...and BTW, is the bio grow you're using for hydro or soil?...there is a difference...
