Leaves turning sideways

Hey all, I just had a question obviously. My plants are indoors in 10in pots. They are into their 5th set of fan leaves and I noticed the 1st set are turning sideways so that they are vertical. The plant looks healthy and green but I wasn't sure if this was a problem.

Anybody??? I looked at the set further and the outer parts of blades are turning the slightest of yellow. Branches are reddish purple just on that pair. The other branches are still green but looks like its starting to slowly turn reddish too. Any help would be appreciated so that I can fix this problem before its too late.

They may be dying because the light isn't penetrating through to them. What light are you using and how far away is it?

I think I was talking to you on the newbie page also the plant I'm talking about is the same one in the newbie PLEASE HELP thread. I'm using 250w HPS about 20 or so inches away

Move it right down to 10 inches, closer if you can. Place your hand over the top of your plants if it burns your hand then it is too close.

alright thanks alot. Hopefully this will do the trick if not I'll post further symptoms. They've been doing quite well and this is my first real attempt at a successful grow so I hope they can get healthy again.

It doesn't feel hot on my hand until about 4 or 5 inches away...should I move it that close? or just leave it at what I have it now which is about 9 1/2

Are you SURE? I'm using 400's so I'm not sure about 250's. If that's what the hand is telling you then that is what you should do.

I only have two plants so i opted for the 250 to keep grow area a little smaller....yea my hand doesnt feel overly warm...i mean i can feel a little heat but it doesn't burn or nething...your're thinking its okay?

Leaves are turning sideways for me as well and the stems on mine look healthy and even the leaves look healthy. It almost looks as if the stem is twisting turning the leaves at a 90 degree angle and after an hour it ends up fixing itself back to normal. I looked this issue up somewhere else and it said it might be due to over watering but I do not think that is the case, the soil in my pot is near completely dry on the top and the bottom. Must be something the plants like to do from time to time.. i'unno
