Thinking of building my own tent for the clones instead of buying one, good idea? I was thinking build a frame from 2 x 4s then use a light proof tarp with mylar. Good idea or would I be better off buying a tent? Clones have roots coming out of the bottom of the cups so i need to get them under the 200W CFL asap, as in tonight. I need to establish a veg room. I'm thinking I'll stop by my local grow shop and pick up a tent.

Buying one would be quicker and easier, but Iv built them before for pretty damn cheap. Built a 2x4 frame and wrapped panda around it.

Had to put panda flaps over the zippers because they leaked light.
This tent was for males and drying.

I just bought five 84 x 54 in mylar water proof disaster blankets for 8.99 on ebay, as long as you are handy and can seal it off, you could basically build a grow tent for under 30$ you just gotta make sure whatever you are gonna hang your lights from inside of it is strong enough to hold the weight. Beautiful new pictures man, they stretched out a whole lot there at the end huh? Anyways thanks for the update, these next two months are gonna be amazing for you, at the end of a grow I have a hard time chopping the beauties, but alas they must be smoked haha. CHeers!

Purchased one of these for $234 out the door from my local grow shop.

Set it up and put the flowering lady in there... I got her in 10 minutes before lights out so I didn't have too much time to take a look around. Buddy will be bringing me a fan soon Current temp with lights off 70ºF in tent.

The tent has a few pin holes and a small hole in the stitching on the bottom I think I am going to need to exchange it.

I'll hopefully get some pics up tomorrow.

Uh Oh, I believe I may have spider mites. I noticed a few 5-10 small white/clear bugs crawling around on the top of the grow bag today, barely visible and no larger than a pin head. What do I do?

Kill them, before they take over the place. Sns spray, neem oil,or look up organic mixtures you can diy. Good luck and god speed.

What is the best way to identify them? They are tiny white/translucent bugs, I can barely see them. What is the first step? Identifying? If so how do I do so? Most of what I've read said small spider mites are black, these things are white

Get a small microscope 10-60x from radioshack or somewhere else, google image search spider mite.
Also look for damage they may have caused.

Don't have a mircroscope but those things sure as hell looks like spider mite larvae. I need to get my oscillating fan in the tent as I didn't want to put it in there as I thought it may be too powerful in a small area but I believe I need to put it in there anyways then I will spray the plant down with dish soap and water, I am afraid getting the buds wet will ruin them, is this true? How should it be done?

Getting wet at this stage is fine. If you have mites though you need to do something about it quick, not just a fan and soapy water.

I'm pretty sure that is what they are... I'll take a look on my lunch break as I work from home. Just noticed them this morning 5 mins before work so I didn't have too much time to look. What would you say would be the best treatment? How much time do I have? I have seen neem oil? Can I find that locally? I can pick it up on my lunch. I would assume a grow shop would have it. Is there another method or is neem the best?

They can reproduce extremely fast, so time is of the essence. There are many ways to deal with them, Id suggest hopping on google and finding out what works best for you.

Thanks, I just made a solution of dish soap and water and sprayed the plant down thoroughly hopefully that will keep them at bay until I find a better solution on my lunch. I see there are quite a few of these small bugs but they are mainly hanging out on the grow bag, I don't see any on the plant itself but I'll have to look closer, there is so much bush i don't know where to begin to look.

I have my plan of action:

Tonight when the lights go out I will be placing a no pest strip in the room, I know about the hazards but I need to nip this in the butt before it gets out of hand, I will be better prepared next time with some Neem oil.

Thoughts?

Just went to put the plants to bed and noticed the bugs are only really in the coco I didn't see a single one on the plant itself they are all crawling around on the top of the coco. I sealed up the tent for the night and hope they will be dead come morning. Not sure if these are spider mites though as they are in the coco, do spider mites eat roots? The grow bag is completely stuffed full of roots so I wouldn't be surprised if whatever these bugs are they are feasting on roots. I just know there are a lot of them.
