Hello, I was wondering if you could grow with just regular christmas lights providing that I also have 1 CFL already in there. I think it should work and I am going to try it but I was just wondering what you guys think about it. Plz. let me know if I shouldnt do this also I dont want to waste my time and money.

Thanks,
DR

The more light intensity the better, otherwise you are wasting your time. i started with 20 of the 23 watt/100 watt cfl replacement bulbs and was not satisfied with the result so i switched to 150 hps. works great and actually uses less wattage. just something to think about.

-- I agree, unless you have enough light, you won't get what you are looking for. Xmas lights are not going to do that, particularly not the filament kind. They produce a lot of heat and all the green wires absorb the light.
If you want something sizeable at the end, go for many CFLs or a HPS.

If u don't wanna waste time and $ ide suggest buying sum real lights. Even CFLs. Ur gonna end up with a 1/2Q by the time ur done and to me that's a waste of time and $ u gotta think of it as an investment. U get what u put in. U don't invest, u won't get a good return. U invest, ur return will cover ur investment
