i like that he kept the color ratio mostly but increased the white channel 3fold. 2 whites always seemed a little bit low

does anyone know at which ampere he runs the leds? or the efficiency of his panels?

Alta LED huh? Seems we missed that one. Too much CREE worship ;)? And WTF is a "Phoquan discharge array"???? And will it counter act photon torpedoes???? LOL

Alta LED announces High Power 4s horticultural LED light source
Published on: August 27, 2014

Pomona, CA -- Imagine...nighttime turning into day... urban indoor growing under the actual scientific makeup of the sun. It's a technology that produces light at 3200 Kelvin... the closest existing match to the sun, creating the perfect plant spectrum for maximum growing. Many have claimed to have it, none have proven it... until now.

Alta LED, an LED innovator and maker of the world's most optically advanced LED chip, today announced the launch of a groundbreaking new horticulture grow light source, integrated into the High Power 4s (HP4S) brand. Domestically made, HP4S is the next generation of LED grow lights.

"With our 300 watt chip replacing 1000 watt use situations, HP4S gives us the ability to meet the needs of greenhouse customers who demand small form factors with high intensity coverage over large areas," says Alta LED and HP4S Founder, John Klena, who is also the CEO of well-renowned Evergreen Lighting.

Alta’s chip is not the typical RGB that is found in LED Grow Lights, Alta LED uses a patented four stage coating process of raw elements over Alta Diode Technology to produce a high intensity array with full spectrum lighting capabilities. Alta Blue Dies are combined with Alta patented phoquan discharge array (P.D.A) liquid materials cured to an Alta Copper Substrate C.O.B. (Chip on Board) style package to achieve full spectrum lighting with high intensity results. Alta blue dies are coated in a four-stage process after die bonding occurs. Each layer of raw elements are then extracted from various Alta LED patented ingredients. Full spectrum PDA occurs when Alta dies react with each layer of coating, exciting and creating photons to create full spectrum light. Each layer is critical to creating and maintaining wavelength and intensity desired.

ALta dies are the only constant current dies capable of sustaining the reaction between the layers and producing full spectrum light. There are only seven worldwide die manufactures. They all use pulse technology due to the fact that their dies lack the technology and endurance to handle constant current driving force. HP4S has mastered this, creating a never discovered and now introduced type of LED chip.

"Our LED chip is a complete green solution, providing energy efficiency and completely made in America," said Klena.

About HP4S
HP4S, the leading provider of high-efficiency LED horticultural lighting solutions for commercial growers and agri-businesses, enables hortculturalists to reduce energy consumption over 50% while increasing operational efficiencies, crop yields, and hastening growth cycles. HP4S offers data-proven solutions for greenhouses, indoor farms, research centers, and universities that may be eligible for energy efficiency subsidies from local utility companies and government programs. Headquartered in Pomona, California, HP4S is privately held.

^^^^That's where I saw it. I knew it looked familiar. They make a 500 watt COB too. One big ass chip.

Same crazy chip(alta=mole richardson=Innoled(rip))................still have no idea how they will cool this thing because the 100w ver didn't like being passively cooled with a big-ass heatsink..............sizzle,sizzle:fire:

First of all I like to apologize for our website. We are in the middle of revamping it with new specs and new chip design. We're always 2 steps ahead with our technology and cannot catch up with everything. You will not find much out there regarding Quantum Dot Technology related to LED's. That's our secret sauce and we have a patent on it.:-)

Here's a sneak preview of our 500W chip design. This particular chip is made for Mole Richardson. This 500W will replace your 2000W HPS system and it's smaller than our current 100W chip design.

So now they're saying 250 watts will replace a 1000 HPS,talk about full of shit.

This was interesting, but still doesn't change their claims much.........."ALta dies are the only constant current dies capable of sustaining the reaction between the layers and producing full spectrum light. Finally spotted a commercial grow light using only COB's,only problem is that I saw it listed at $2900 for 334 watts, you do the math.
That price is insane. I recently obtained a Stealth Grow SG602 case with heatsink/fans I was thinking of making into a dimmable 300w light fixture using Mean Well HLG drivers and 6 COBs @1400mA. It would be awesome for a 3x3 but I really don't have the space but I figure someone will be interested in it.

It could me made with a couple of options for COBs but I would probably get rid of it for $750cdn with Vero18's or $900cdn for Vero29's plus shipping. I was thinking of listing it local on craigslist but if anyone on here is interested in this feel free to PM me.

How would one securely sell another a fixture without meeting in person? I've sold used fixtures through CraigList before and have made great returns but say the area I'm in now doesn't have as many growers per square mile and only people outside of driving distances are interested in buying my (physical) capital? Of course there is Ebay but those greedy bastards want 10% of an anything you make, plus add in shipping costs (~$10 or more). I'm just asking because I'm in the middle of selling my BlackStar (which is practically new).

Would PayPal work in this instance?

I have been looking for this patent ever since it was mentioned in the other thread. Has anyone found it?

BTW there are lots of patents related to LEDs and quantum dots. The big question is whether their QDs are cadmium free...
