IP54 isn't hard to achieve, although Illumitex and Heliospectra are probably the only ones to consistently meet/exceed this rating. Lens is likely PMMA for higher transparency; Heliospectra uses Lumileds Rebel LEDs and I really question the total system efficiency they are getting with these diodes and optic combinations. Last time I checked with the factory, Lumileds yields on top bin LEDs was disappointing (as of March '15).

I like the ducted exhaust capability of Heliospectra fixtures, but I have yet to see any commercial cannabis growers install ducting on their Heliospectra lights. Does anyone know of any commercial outfits with ducted Heliospectra lights?

...with that prices its not for everybody... off course... on cannabis the question its... what programs for light they follow... ...lot of diferents posibilities...maybe using various depending plant stage or variety... maybe not for normal growers... one experienced with time and tests... who knows...:fire: ...im not off course... im too poor and inexpert...

...but high inspirative for diys from my pov too...

are you calling Utah state's findings bullshit?:wink:....................of course the lens is pmma

I can almost guarantee you that in this large Nevada grow OP these helio fixtures will be ducted==== keep system efficiency high

Do you think 310W (~41% efficient) of LED/COB would be enough to replace a typical 600W HPS? If not, how many watts/PAR watts will it take? Do we take into account spread?

So many questions and so many variables ;-)

I think we still have to shoot for 3/4 of the hid watt draw to stay on the safe side. Can a skilled grower with creative training get away with less? Sure.

I should have said...I don't support amare, but the connecting was the same as a51, so I thought I would bring it up, and that was the only place I could link a pic from.

Yeah, and I don't mean to get online just to complain. I'm just a guy who actually wants to buy a light, and I'm having a hard time doing it. HeavenBright could be a great company some day, but they released before the light was ready, and I'm not willing to risk my limited funds on something that is untested. Amare doesn't list their prices, which as I mentioned I find to be a bit suspicious. The big picture is that they are in beta with a full website that has prices... now they just have to start building modular COBs, since they are finally about to launch their complete website and 2/3's of their products are already last years models... And then there is A51, who can announce a new product will arrive in April and then (apparently +/-) deliver in August. Damn, I just want to buy some lights. That's why I have an Optic -- even though their price point is not the best and their COBs are too close together on their larger units, at least they deliver when promised and seem to be upfront about their products components.

There is plenty of flow.knockout in each side. very simple,but very effective, and yes AP hit on something with the V6 design and will be offered with 29s aug3rd

I have the apolo light and it have more knockout then the opticlight but still i removed the front plate. So the first thing I noticed was the sound of the fans was lower also I could feel more airflow.
