My guiding principle is: what's closest to the conditions under which these plants have evolved for millions of years?
Some guys like to think that incredible results are waiting behind some magic door. Longer light periods, heavy applications of fertilizer, defoliation, etc.
I like happy plants. In the real world, plants get a rest break from the sun. I've read that they carry out certain tasks in the dark that do not occur during daylight.
Subjecting them to 24/7 feels like cruelty to me.
