PLEASE FEEL FREE TO:

 POST YOUR GROW PICS
 POST SITES THAT SELL LEDS
 ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT LED LIGHTING (I'LL BE GLAD TO HELP WITH WHAT I CAN)
 HAVE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LATEST LED TECHNOLOGY
 POST WHAT LED LIGHTS YOU HAVE USED AND HOW GOOD THEY WERE

Please guys lets be respectful and not bash on this thread.

Thanks!!

ROFLMFAO @max. Yeah bro, way not to hate as requested.

I'm going with LEDs for my grow room. I've done a lot if research on it, and I'm convinced they work. Look it up on YouTube.

The UFO LED lamp seems to be super popular. Here's a place that has them on sale for $120 w/ free shipping instead of the normal $200: http://www.thegreenleaf.biz/

Here's a fuckin kick ass thread from a Jazzy dude here @rollitup: https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/320518-my-first-aero-garden-my.html -- I loved that thread. It really helped. He switched to using the UFO LED lamp during the journal, and the plants thrived.

LED lamps are the future, guys. Get over it. It's all about NM wavelength output, and LEDs do that with ease and high energy-efficiency.

Here is a very interesting YouTube vid about a growth comparison experiment between the UFO LED and a 400W HPS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh9oGroryoc

so what i gave you my opinion. And i have tried led's and they are inferior, produce less and your plant has to be directly under them which in turn means you can get less plants under them too. Light meters don't lie

90 watt LED UFO= 3150 lumens. supposed to equal a 400 watt hps???
400 watt hps= 55,000 lumen output

Now you tell me what you wanna use??? Math doesn't lie either..

You could buy a 1000 watt hps system for the $349 price of the 90 watt LED'S, and you only get about 118,000 more lumens

I don't remember talking to you, i'm just stating the facts. You must be one of these people that think led's can actually do something.
I have a bridge for sale if you wanna buy it???

Fuck man, all I've been doing today is researching LED grow lights, and I think I've found the cream-o-the-crop. I can't wait to get it and use it (still need to renovate the new grow room, but pics will be posted when the time comes.) These lights seem to be better than prosource or HTGSupply (which are some of the other top rated LED grow light supply companies).

This is the one I'll be picking up: http://www.hydrogrowled.com/205W-Penetrator-LED-Grow-Light--P43C7.aspx -- it's expensive, but exactly what I'm personally looking for.

Here's a long thread with pic after pic of LED vs. HID comparisons:
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=169532

It also has comparison with other LED brands.

Enjoy!

Very nice! Be sure to post pics once you've got your room setup!

hey, ok i have a question.
i bought 2 LED panels
one of them is like a 250 HPS and the other is like a 75 MH/HPS
everyone says LED are garbage but others say they do have an advantage. i wanna use them because they are pretty stealthy, low energy, low heat if any.

i have a 1 1/2 ft X 2 ft veg (3 sq ft) chamber where im gonna be using 4 in pots of soil to grow in and then i have a 3 1/2 ft X 2 ft (3.5 sq ft) flower chamber that will hold 8 3 gallon pots
both of them go 4 ft high but the veg chamber also has a removable shelf that is put there for seeds or clones.

i did the lumens per sq feet thing to see if the lighting will be fine and by my calculations it seemed right. i read here in an article about lighting a good range of lumen per sq ft is 7000-10000.

i planned on getting another one of those 250 HPS LED for the flowering chamber for a total of 500W and using the weaker one for vegging since its gonna be closer to the plants. people say this wont work though. if you can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated

75W: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150436838664&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

250W: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320523095041&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

im also going to be covering the entire place with mylar. someones already helped me out on this but because LEDs are a bit complicated i wanted more input to make sure.

Normajean im sorry to say those Leds aren't enough to veg and flower. You're going to need more watts then that, those are only 14 watt. And about the lumens from what i have read the lumen ratings don't really matter because that's only measuring the yellow spectrum, and those LEDS you're using don't even use any yellow color. I have two 225 LED panels but i use them as side lighting. Hope i helped i little please let me know if you have more questions.

On the first page of this thread I posted a link to a site that has those UFO LED lights on sale for $120 w/ free shipping. I just checked and the offer is still there. If I were you, I'd buy 2 of those bitches. As far as LED lights go, those UFO's are pretty tested and work well. Don't crowd the plants too close together under em, keep the light just a few inches above, get mylar to reflect light, and consider adding a CFL or two for a good (and cheap) boost. They aren't the strongest light in the world, but I've seen PLENTY of proof of them producing nice buds...
