LED lighting

I’m asking questions relevant to what he wants to do. He’s looking to accomplish a certain task but leaving out details so it’s impossible to answer him. That’s the issue.
Sounds like he has a good idea what he wants and is open to a better available option for his grow. I'm pretty sure somebody here can give some good insight into both lights and the alternatives that might help him for his specific needs.

EDIT: Which it looks like is happening now. ;)

Or whats the true wattage of those? I shoulda worded that better
720 watts, it's in the name. The Diablo are 650w and push way more light over a wider footprint. The Growers Choice are not bad (I have 3 of them) but they're not as good as the HLG Scorpion Diablo by any means.

Growers Choice 720 get like 2.8 PPF/W
Scorpion Diablo (650w) gets 3.2 PPF/W

This equates to more light for less power and heat.

What exactly is your issue? Was it something I said? :(

Are you mad because I won’t tell you what light I use? I mean you only asked me that irrelevant question twice in this thread now.

According to the manufacturer specs it draws up to 800w.

The name has nothing to do with actual specs. Otherwise the Spiderfarmer SP4000 would draw 4000w.
It goes to 800w with their controller, the knob @ 100% draws 723 watts per my meter. It's one of the few lights that actually states the true wattage, Luxx also uses the real wattage in the names. I'm aware that a "2000 watt" light isn't actually 2000 watts, anyone should be.

800w + EXT Control Boost according to their specs.

I don’t have the light on hand to say otherwise and the specifications imply it’s 800w PLUS.

I guess you’re saying their specifications are either lying or wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time.

That’s as bad as the Gavita not even posting the price of the light. If you have to hunt down information about a product I’d avoid it like the plague. Nutrient manufacturers do the same thing. If they don’t openly state what’s in them, why would you want to buy them?

Also look at fold-8 or Medicgrow spectrum x ( I’m thinking about this one myself ) .
HLG definitely has their users here so there is that . Timber growlights also is another strong option.
CMH rigs are available too if interested in those setups.

I would actually lurk the growers journals to see actual product use in garden. Too easy to cook the par charts and “ specs “ on line. Go by what’s being used and results .

It was a comparison to the person stating the model names the wattage. Bro. I’m sure you’ll figure out your lighting for your 100sqft space for your fire bud. GL spending $1300 for 650w. You got this bro.

I see timber has new designs, I've been running my cree cobs for 5 year's, he doesn't even fool with cob anymore. I'm happy with my timber lights,I use them along with a qb and get great results.

Too bad about cob rigs , I still use a few. I think they are still strong rigs to use.
HLG 96’S are great light engines to construct a “ cob like “ light rig. Each can easily run 225w EACH . So a 6 piece rig or better with dimmable sets of ( 2 96’s or 3 ) can be a monster .
