Don't do cidly! in my experience i have a panel I have to fix on my own for a third time lol but thats just my experience can't speak for everyone but im getting better results with the sgs-160's anyhow

While not the most interesting update, its an update nonetheless lol day 11 flower def close to full stretch or so I hope! basically led vs hid going on here but not exactly fair..4 sgs 160 panels with 6 plants vs 1000 watt in the og hood with 4 plants....and to add a little more controversy its super air pots vs smart pots

Love it. The OG hood is so gnarly. I think a 400cmh in the OG would really be cool/so good. And sgs's is the best/closest way to replace with a normal 1000w'er. You will get great coverage all the way to the edge of your canopy.

Glad to see you get everything back on track. Plants all look amazing and happy with either light. Bring on the flowers!

Thanks Tags! I actually have a little surprise to spoil lol, Im waiting on the delivery of the true 900 watt system from Dnalightingsolutions its basically a 860 watt cmh that has the best spectrum of any bulb Ive ever seen! and its going in my og hood as its best suited for the vertical position. I can't wait to see flowers under that thing! Other than that, that new at660 looks ridiculous!! Jealous I won't have the scratch for it but i feel like 4 sgs panels do a very great job with coverage and penetration

No way!!!! That's what I am talking about...900w cmh in an OG hood. I am so jealous right now. I only see people talking about the <400w's. And no one says anything about the 860's so I wasn't sure how they are, or if they were not as good as the 400's or something. But I never got educated enough on it yet.
You have more than enough good equipment in your arsenal. Maybe if you expand or something the 660 would be cool...but you got plenty now man.

I know you guys get it, but think how privileged we are to be this aware of what LEDs can do

Fast update alert, finally decided to fix my cidly apollo 16 panel and made a couple of changes...first I changed it to only 12 modules reducing wattages and heat dramatically. It used to draw about 550 from the plug, it now uses 400 flat and all 8 fans still run keeping it very cool. Reason for the change is to get a better comparison to two sgs panels pulling about 320. I also changed the spectrum to follow the older style area51 panels with a each module using 6500k,630nm and 660nm which looks close to the sgs panel in color but seems to have a more purple tint. Another reason for using less modules was after speaking with the rep from china they said they had problems with any panel over there apollo 12 models in terms of leds burning out (who knows but time will tell). The last change to keep this post from running on and on lol is I changed out half of the secondary lens to a 50/50 ratio of 60 degree and 90 degree for awesome penetration and coverage. My light meter spiked all the way to max when held 2ft away! This project took me 5 hours so this light better last this time!!!! Here are the pics :)

Lets see how my upgraded apollo @ 400 watts can do vs 2 sgs 160 panels @ 320 watts with 2 plants per

Day 16 update better pics now at 13/11 with the far red lumi grow bulbs kickin on for 5 min after lights out , They seem to be going slowly but I usually grow from clone so i have to realize from seed they aren't going to be as far along in the same time.

Looking good man. I'm a couple days behind you, hit 23 days flower this morning running the SGS160.

What's your sweet spot distance wise for the SGSs to plant tip? I took measurements this morning...39" overall from soil to tip. Fixture to tip 14". Had about 18" of stretch after SCROG installed and flipped.

Trying to get some pointers from growers familiar with these lights. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Prosperian, my plants on average are about 32" tall from the medium, and i like to keep the light 15-20" away depending on the strain...so about an average of 18" above the canopy as this was advice from eraserhead. Also seems to be a good distance for penetration and coverage as i have buds forming well down to about a foot from the bottom of the plants. I usually lolipop the bottoms anyways. Hope this helps some
