Hi guys.
I saw led growing lamps but they are pretty expensive, and im wondering why!? there is some special led diodes or what? If gonna buy in ebay diodes for few cents and coolers from old computers it will cost me 10$ not 200$ or even more... so where is diference or i am maybe just poor?
Annnd about seeds from eshops... if ill use my visa card and adress, cops or bank will see that what im buyng?

Go ahead and build what you can for $10... Then try growing a plant... I mean there are some decent diy lamps around here, but you wont get much from $10

$100+ for home-built LED worth a shit. stays cool, grows weed. beats CFL, HPS, and MH watt-per-watt.

If ill make lamp from 50 diodes with 2W each diode for one plant, it will be good enuff?

It might work if u have a good mix of bulbs to get the right spectrum, 2w bulbs aren't very good though 3w or better is what you need for good canopy penetration. If you have the skills to build a unit it can definatly be done but you might as well go with direct from the factory Chinese units, theyre cheaper then brand name and just as good if you know what to look for in a unit

you can buy a chinese design and rebuild it when it fails.. Only use 3-5w LEDs with proper cooling. It would look like a little computer when you are done. Shittones of cool things happening at the same time; electric capacity and drive, proper wiring which does not cross, electric ohm and dwell is accounted for, proper grounding, proper spacing.. You really need to be a ninja with a little free time to make it work and be fun. You have to enjoy what you do..

LED has the potential to watt-per-watt beat anything out there, do you?

I done a bit of research into LED lights for growing. I only use a square foot 20 watt LED for seedlings then move them to a CFL once they get established. I'd like to grow completely with LED but there seems to be issues regarding spectrun and some of the prices I've seen are just stupid. I've been looking at buying direct from China and as far as I can tell they are the same as branded lights but only a quarter of the price ... so it my be worth it to cut out the middle man and buy direct. I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this and get some good links. Thanks

ive been growing with Chinese LED all year and have had great results. Some units out there aren't the best but if you know what to look for in a good quality unit they are definatly out there. Check the thread in my signature to see what im currently doing with em

LED is nice for seedlings if you have the 75f temps.. once they establish, move to CFL.. perfect... nice and cool, plenty of light. Here comes your dilemma... HID or LED..

I started with a 400w MH.... Are you ninja for LED? I have LED builds and I NEVER will drop my digital HID force. LED is a luxury, enjoy it if it works for you. The perfect LED with the perfect environment.. Be a ninja..

Thanks guys. i have good ideas with these leds, but moust important thing from them is less warming, so nobody cant see it from sky.

I still have that question about buyng seeds from internet, maybe somebody know?
