Led strip light problem

So long story short I built a new strip light and had the dimmer wired incorrectly.

It was running at 30% power for the first 5 days when I got the plants set up under it. I also had switched the schedule to 12/12 the first day.

Plants are not looking that great. Lots of dead leaves. New growth is yellow/bright green. Very small and curled up fan leaves on the top as well.

I might of had the light too close once I figured out my wiring issue so moved the light to 16” away.

Its been 3 days since I got it working properly but plants don’t seem to be improving.

May switch the schedule back to 18/6 till they recover. But not sure how the plants will react

Any help would be much appreciated. First time growing with LED so trying to diagnose whatever the issue may be

I'm not experienced enough to tell what their problem is but pretty sure it doesn't have to do anything with how you wired the dimmer.

I thought if I wired together the dimmer wires on my driver it would be running at 100%.

When I finally got my hands on the potentiometer and got it hooked up I found that this was incorrect and the strips were being driven at the lowest power setting.

The plants basically sat in the dark for 5 days, I don’t think the light would of been doing much at 30% hanging 12” away

Well if you think low light intesity was the problem then that means you fixing the light should fix the problem, no?

You gave the plants two mutually reinforcing signals; dim light and long darkness interval. You'll likely see some preflowering but that will go away with strong light and short darkness.

I had success with a 6 hour on 2 hour off schedule. Don't skimp on light intensity.

LED lit plants like it warm to make up for loss of IR. 85F in veg and through mid bloom.

What were you rinning before you built the light rig? If coming from hps,it could be your environment. No Radiant or ir heat from the leds. Your VPD could be off.
They were under 4 36” T5’s

Yes you are right. I guess my question is should I leave them on 12/12 or switch them back to 18/6 till they recover a bit.

Leaving the dimming leads alone unconnected results in 100% driver output.
Connections the two leads together is not what you want.
Either connected to dimmer or left alone.
