LED Tent Venting

Hi guys I’m switching from HID to LED in a 4x4. If I swap the 1000w HID set up for 730w LED do I still need to vent the tent out the window?

my google search didn’t lead me nowhere thanks.

If your temps are high. If your temps are good I'd at least put on a timer to let so.e fresh air in a few times a day at least.

Led's still produce heat.
In a 4x4 if you have a efficient led you could get away with more like 550/600w. Temps/humidity or air exchange will still have to be controlled either way

I always find venting into the same room causes too much humidity which makes the dehumidifier run making heat and costing moe money. You can just turn down your fan with a speed controller, or run it off a controller to turn on/off or whatever. Ac infinity makes a good controller I hear.
It really depends on your setup and your ambient environment. Eg do you live somewhere hot or cold...?

730W is going to put off some heat but nothing near a kW HID. If you're in a big room with a/c, you may not need to vent out of a window. Could try it both ways to see which is better.

Ok I’ll leave my widow vent intact to prevent recycling the same air and making the temps increase. I don’t know why I was thinking the LED makes zero heat from looking at the tent setups they have displaying the LED online lol. The always have LED and carbon filter venting out the tent into the same room.

730w produce the same heat as 730w of any electrical equipment, but there wont be HID radiant heat, even if your LED will have IR diodes it will be significantly less. There is a lot of misconception online that LED are cooler but this statement is false - they are cooler regarding light efficiency = more light compared to same wattage HID

Precisely they are more efficient at converting energy to photons rather than HID that push out more fugitive heat. So more watts are converted to photons than heat. Of course this can create the age old problem of the VPD issue(room temp not hot enough so leaf temp low = less transpiration).

So if your tent does stay warm, let it stay warm so that the leaf temps are the same as HID.

As another person posted her, get your humidifier and fan on a timer to operate when you encounter the most humidity. Should def help.
