Come on, you know I have gotten my hands dirty- I bought 10 @ A27 bulbs (various wattages, used as both over head and as side lighting) + 5 @ ~ 16w LED tubes, and was going to try panels, but MCs & COBs hit the market.

I can tell you this the smd panels rock for office lighting

Of course I will be using WW COBs to replace my 4 @ ~ 16w WW tubes. That's what I am investigating now. A month ago I asked my partner to order 2 ~ 75w MSC (multi-spectrum chips) but actual draw was < 40w per. I planned to supplement with them. He loaded the info incorrectly, the transaction did not go through. Since then, I have been in a quandary.

Certainly I could upgrade the chip to a WW or WW COB, but would the heat sink/driver handle it; and what about what voltage to run it at? What kind of aste was used, how easy is it to remove... I don't have the electrical engineering background to figure any of that out.

Better if I don't DIY, unless I am following a proven result with parts spelled out.

All I need is to infill with 3 WW COBs @ ~ 20w actual draw per

They seem to be available from Alibaba in the form of down lights, but actual draw is not listed + minimum quantities with some is an issue

Sit back, smoke a bowl and, chillax. It will all unfold
Hey don't know if you seen this but I thought you might find it interesting.

I dont't know man the Hydro Grow ones looked pretty legit. What makes you think Area 51 is better, from experience, or from what you've heard?
A few journals i have read from people i trust on this site...I usually wouldnt recommend something i have no experience with. I have used the LED's Cree XT-E's before....they were good.

Dont all LED's look 'pretty legit'....what in particular did you like about those?

Lol! Thats hilarious..
This 140 is all I have besides 4 or 5 of the 43 watt cfl's. I was told at the hydro shop this light is equal to a 400w hps. May or not be accurate idk. I really like the growth im seeing since swapping out the cfl's for the led about 3 weeks or so back. My space right now is a 36" round'ish space and 4' tall. Few days from now their permanent home will be 4'x4'x6'. I will need more lights for sure. I can only upgrade so much at a time though. Work in progress. I dig the led's for sure. Any advice? Funds are limited...as with most folks these days.

Well if heats not a problem, those CFLs will help. I hope none of your friends work at that hydro shop, cause I don't believe they were being very straight with you. It appears to veg nice but it's flowering time, and that's another story entirely. And CREE bulbs are a pretty good addition for additional light and spectrum, on the relativley cheap. See captainmorgan's thread for more info on growing with CREE bulbs. And don't feed them too heavy till you get more light. Half dosage at most IMO, but I've never used your nutes. Still, I would still act on the side of caution. Best of luck with your beauties.

FJ is tellin it straight

Install a partition inside the big tent to keep light closer to your plants. HD/Lowes sells 4 x 8 sheets of insulting foam- Bring a sharp knife and cut to fit

I had definitely planned on a partition until I obtain anotner light. I have had very good success using that method for a while now. Not new to growing just new to led. I like to use bright white poster board in snug completely surrounding my garden. I get tons of side growth. And helps the bottom nugs not be as loose.

How much of a difference is there between 4365k and 5000k? Who wants to take a crack at that? Difference by percentage, it is quite a bit of difference is it not, especially when measured for intensity? Which is more efficient or could be? :peace:

I like the new layout, but I find it somewhat difficult to distinguish between posts... like having my 'likes' back though!
