Led Users Unite!

More than 250W of juice sounds pretty crazy. Cost seems reasonable. I think a 2x2 area is excellent start for reasonable coverage, especially if the unit is slightly smaller than the actual 2x2 area. Yah?

I think another step that should be taken is consideration into how the unit can be placed, not simply horizontal with the canopy, but along side of it as well. The way the unit vents, etc. should be considered in something like that. Perhaps that's a bit distant until the tech. gets a solid footing in this world.

Thanks for the sympathy Treeth, believe it or not, I have seen a lot of your comments around various threads, and at first, I was very uncertain of your status, but it seems your opinions are respectable. They are most certainly welcome here.

I think 2010 is the year the led will kick some serious :leaf:SS. In my opinion it is doing it now, but because there is not a lot to solidify the results between hps and led, most people disregard led tech. altogether.

Anywho...there's an eyeload for ya!:leaf:

I'd like to keep in touch with you on that subject Treeth.

Peace, and thanks!

awwww pf!

hey buddy, you're right about the coverage thing though 1 to 1.

Maybe in, the spring, I'll offer up a group buy of my led lights which are the product of years of research.

I think there will be interest, the light will be 250+ watts, cost between 3 and 400, and cover 4 square feet.

What do you think?

Surely there are more people out there using LEDs. Step up people. Anybody using LEDS who is not selling them can speak up!

Quick Review of Prosource Jumbo 180W UFO- Very solid looking. Great cooling. Very quite operation. The little switches are pretty sweet to tone is down for say, seedlings and such, maybe a low light fern or some junk. Anyhow. I can only say good things as of day 2 with the PS light.

Just my two bits.

-pf-

I have looked at prosource and got a close look at one in a retail store. To be honest was not happy with how the 180w looked with the IR and the switch system that controls the LEDs ( there is no need for this - I think). I did more research and the best bang for the buck was from GlowDynamics with their 300w etc.... I even got to speak with the medical grower that is running tests and what he says will be posted on their web site that they have had real good results with Nirvana B52 and other cross Maple strains.

I ordered 2 which should be with me in the next couple of days according to my tracking.

I have a number of strains that I will be trying out - AK48, WonderWoman etc......

I will keep you updated. GlowDynamics have a picture gallery up of a Medical Grow which does look good - dont just take my word. They are also bringing out an even more powerful light in the next 2-3 weeks - I think he said it was 380w.

I hope this helps - If I dig up any more info I will let you all know.

Peace :bigjoint:

Sweet...a pro-LED thread.....

Nice to see others getting great results. Was definitely getting tired of the hater threads. Nothing pisses me off more than a bunch of jackasses trash talking new technology (and the people who use it) because they're too set in their ways (or cheap) to realize there might be a better/more efficient/alternative way to HPS. I don't know how many posts I've seen from people who have never seen a LED grow, but KNOW that it doesn't work.

My friend is currently veggin 6 ladies with a 400 watt clear MH bulb and adds 2 90 watt UFOS (one on each side of the MH reflector, angled toward the center of the grow) and switches his MH bulb to a phosphorous-coated white one when its bud time....works great too.

Keep on fightin the good fight!

Bit off the track ... I recently drove a car with directional LED/Bi-Zenon lights

... if the experience was anything like this car ... trust me, everyone will be using LED to grow within 5 years
The intensity & clarity of light produced was amazing - it was like a space ship!

Look the premium brands in TV's, Cars, Construction/Building, etc ... everything is pointing towards LED ... if you are not using it, you are dumb

It just comes down to if the R&D has been done ... relevant to what we want it for ... grin

Hey All. I wanted to tell everybody I am very pleased with my Lumigrow, as well as the Lumigrow people themselves. Very great customer service! Very fast to respond!
There is more to a good light than a good light, the people behind the unit say a lot about what is now, and what is to come in their products.

That is it. I speak highly of the unit, and the people.

Much respect.

It just seems that those who believe that these lights are more efficient have grown with neither hid or led. It's a fad people-the colors look really cool, but I have seen no significant results from this technology. And believe me...I have a hell of a lot more pics to prove my case.

Get out of my thread beeker. you are not welcome here. I have seen your b.s. and it is not welcome here. I have had success with LED and so have many other. I don't use that cheap shit...I have high quality tech...

Your thread? This is a forum, where anyone can state their opinion...get over yourself. And I'm calling you out right now-lets see the proof.None of this "I'm gonna" or "I have had success with led".Show the hard numbers-scale pics would be nice.I have many, many pics-if you'd like I could post about a hundred right here. Can you? If theres any bs being spewed around here, it's from you.Nothing to add?All thats come from you is a bunch of overexaggerated nonsense. You have not one crippled leg to stand on dude.Have a nice day.

I reccomend prosource ufo's, as I have not been burned by this company. They have a good product, even if the price is a little on the higher end, you for sure get your money's worth. Thats my two cents. Look em up, illuminator UFOs. they have both a 90W and a 180W which is what I have used and seen used, and the 180 seems to rock it hard, but then again the 90 is half the price, but I think you can for sure get comparable results to a 250W hps, we are beyond that point right now.

If you interested in these lights, or have questions, pm me if ya want. Otherwise, hopefully others can chime in with their suggestions

-pf-
Sure, they can chime in...as long as they agree with you.Once again, I'm going to have to call you out on this one.Any proof of your success?Look fluoro, I've grown with prosources led products, I have proof of this. What bothers me are your totally unfounded claims. It's bullshit, and your bullshitting is going to do nothing more than screw over the misinformed.Lets see your product-I can show you mine.

leds work! its all about the wavelengths! and yes i do have pics to prove this as well. and yes im talking bout the cheaper Chinese ufo's. its all about the red/blue wavelengths people!

ole fluoro hit me with neg rep LOL!!! He stated further, that I had nothing to add.Well fluoro, at least you can say I added some pics to your thread...was lookin a little bare here.

once you make the investment for the right kind of LEDS, your grow will be big. i have 3 90watt led and 4 panel led, i think they r 50 watts.. i am only 3 weeks into bloom and the buds r growing at a rate that is unbelievable..

beeker, have u finished a led grow? yea scratch that i seen some of the pics u shown off. when i get my home pc up and running right later on ill post some pics. i know alot of people in the process of switching over. theres some decent companys out there that can get u the exact led's u need to have a GREAT harvest! but theres tons of panels out there that are complete garbage.

Not to be rude, at all, it's just that we need to see these pics to make an informed decision.I'm not saying leds will never work, but until I see proof from several unbiased, non-fanatical, growers-my mind is made up.The problem is this whole "I got", or "I'm getting" nonsense-this is the internet, where anybody can claim anything they want. And it's insane how people are throwing away good cash based on what someone posted(sans pics as usual).I started led growing, just to see for myself what all the hype was about. This was a year ago, when there we're no journals online. The ufo's were from prosource, touted by fluoro on this thread. But when confronted on his claims-ole fluoro got angry-and insinuated that the gear I used was "cheap junk", when in a previous post he stated that prosource was "high end".The fact that ole fluoro responded the way he did, confirms the bs factor here is way off the charts. If someone challenges you...prove them wrong. You dont get fired up, spread negative rep, and storm off like a bitch. That, in itself, speaks volumes about the mans "convictions".I'm not attacking led growers-only the ones that are full of it.I mean, who dosent want these things to work as promised?
