I can't tell you what to expect. But I went into my LED grow knowing that it it probably won't yield as much as a 600 hps no matter what the manufacturer says. It hasn't let me down yet though, which is good because i'm out even more than 500. Remember, this is new technology and its not always going to work out in our favor. Kinda like if you were one of the guys who bought an laserdisc player thinking it was gonna be the next big thing. Only time will tell if it really works or not.

Sup Dudes,

Since I'm a "pioneer" also I figured my .02 might be worth something.
One huge reason to spend the money on LED is energy conservation or less energy consumption
Lack of High temperature correction
duration of the life of the light

As for growing I only have 1 major observation as of today: In my current push, The area of my scrog is properly covered by the HiD. There is one area which is covered not only by the HiD but also by the LED. in the area covered by the LED I have a lot of foliage but no stretching. ON the side with only the HiD they are surely stretching. So one advantage to the LED from my perspective is the ability to keep the vegetative height controlled and still have your bud sites popping up everywhere.

I'll post pics after my Res change today. i'm too buzzed to do it now....

Very good points. I've also noticed less stretching and a ton of bud sites with my LED grow. I'm just waiting to see how well the LED can fill up those bud sites.

I wouldn't go with any of those. Check out LED Wholesalers seller. They have good prices and I have had mine for a month and it is doing better than the previous UFO model

i'm using a few sunshine systems glow panel 45 led lamps, for veg, and supplementing a 400 watt hps flower box. so far they're doing the job helping out and doing it without any detectable heat being added, as well as not taxing the crappy electrical work in this house haha

lovin' them, i want to get a kessil next

Installed it today, as my autoflower has just started to get flowers (after almost 8 weeks - no idea why it took so long), but I'm not sure if I want to set the mode to just reds, or reds with white/UV/bit of blue etc. The latter would be in addition to the former. A blend is still best for flowering, above just red, isn't it?

I would like to know how well those Hydro Hut LED panels work... I have been watching them for a while. I don't have a need for 250 watts right now, but might in the future so I have been researching early.

Even with HPS there are varying quality of bulbs. some SHPS bulbs can be well over $100! Best thing to do is fit the light to the grow space. IF all you need to grow is an ounce, then 250w is major overkill. I have been able to pull over an ounce per plant on some bagseed genetics that start around 12-15" going into flowering and all I have used is a UFO style 90w LED and some CFL bulbs. I have never had an issue with flowering time as my plants show very little change when I cut them from 10 weeks to 9 weeks flowering.

AS with most growers that choose LED, I needed it because of heat issues for the cab I was going to be using. I have never grown with HPS and may never since I don't have need for large yields just quality bud. LED can produce quality! My gf loves the stuff I grow. With the CFL's and the LED light I have about $200 in my lighting setup. Last grow I did I yielded over 100g with a total of 182w used.

budding in soil in a 6 x 5 room and got 4 ufo led lights from htg on e-bay (works great) and been gettin sum big ass buds, from bag seeds.....got pollen sacks in buds, not opened....i'm guessing too hot in the grow room, temps reached 94 degrees during this batch...maybe stressed???, but get about a little over a half -pound, is that good for the size of room???going to get a 180 watt 2010 from hydroponicshut on e-bay as well, see how that works, let me know what y'all think???? ​

Gepends on how many plants you have. If you are taking up the whole room, I would say a half pound is not very much since I can get nearly a QP in a 3 foot tall cab with short plant and no scrog

I'll keep the forums updated with my progress. I'm loving the concept, at least, and they seem to be quite invested in their gear, rather than just selling to make quick profit.

My 180w cost just $270 (plus a bit for shipping to the UK), which is more than ample for my 40x40x120cm tent.

There are so many factors that can effect the yield. I can't say about the pots because I have only grown with hydro. As far as the space size, It is a good size for a personal grow. I have a space that is 36" wide, 22" deep, and 38" tall. I only grow plants that get up to about 24" tall and I am getting an ounce per plant using the fimming method to get multiple tops.

How tall is your space? The key to LED lighting is keeping the lights near the tops of the plants and having all tops at the same level. LED units usually don't have as much canopy penetration, so you can't just let the plants grow any which way with LED lights (most units)

One thing I realized was that my foliage was getting way to thick, to the point where any type of lighting would have trouble penetrating. This was due to the fact that LED's seem to minimize stretching and make real bushy plants. What I did to remedy this was to dial down the blue spectrum on the lumigrow, leaving a mostly red spectrum. This encourages the plants to stretch more, and in 3 days I've noticed a huge difference. Once the plants are stretched out where I want them, I'll turn the blue back up so things don't get out of control. I realize not all LED's have this capability, but I'm seeing it on more and more fixtures. If you're shopping for an LED, try and find one that has control of the red and blue, and experiment with it.
 
Real Nice!! I hope to see flowering results like that. I like those haight solid state panels, they seem to perform well and are decently priced, at least as far as high wattage LED's are concerned.

I've been trying to find someone who bought a Procyon. How do you you like it? What do you think of customer service, etc?
Is the fan silent? Is there a dial for adjusting the light spectrum, like the similar SuperLED light?

I really like the look of that light design. Good luck with it.
 
I figured I would post some grow pics since no one else is talking in the last few days lol. This is the ak-48 strain from nirvana. Its crazy how bushy it is from the LEDs. My dad is going to give me a 400w hps light for flowering, hell ya! I plan on using both the hps, LED, and 2700k fluorescents. I figure as long as I get an oz per plant that should last me until the next grow is done. an oz per month yeaaaa :-P
