what the heck, amazon and gothams site isnt selling the 500 or the 240 anymore. anyone know whats up with this.
maybe because my father got pissed off that a 240w panel only has 120w of power drivers in it and called them out for being deceptivewhat the heck, amazon and gothams site isnt selling the 500 or the 240 anymore. anyone know whats up with this.
This info isn't purely based on the physical size of them is it?maybe because my father got pissed off that a 240w panel only has 120w of power drivers in it and called them out for being deceptive
the 240w onlyhas 120w of drivers heres the pic each one about 40w theyre too tiny to do much more than that
heworked for texas instruments as an engineer you cant pull a fast one on him electronics is his game
what it is is companies doing this: Hey we put 80 3w LEDs in this panel thus it is a 240w!maybe because my father got pissed off that a 240w panel only has 120w of power drivers in it and called them out for being deceptive

Does this mean 3W diodes are overkill? are we just as good with 2W? This info is very interesting to me...... how are people saying the 3W penetrates better than the 2W if they all run at 1.5? how can a 3W device only draw 1.5?what it is is companies doing this: Hey we put 80 3w LEDs in this panel thus it is a 240w!
But this is misleading because you can't actually run LEDs at their max wattage because they will produce too much heat over light (less efficient if running too high) so they have to be run at half or 3/4. I think 2w LEDs and 3w LEDs both run about 1.5w most of the time.
So always be sure people to make sure of the true wattage before buying. You wouldn't want to fill an area with what you think is enough light only to end up with half as much as you thought you paid for!
no this is based on some plug meter my dad has killwatt or something total draw was 130w three 40w drivers and a 10w fandriver each driver wired up plugged in and testedThis info isn't purely based on the physical size of them is it?
dad says diodes can't draw more than 20 30 milamps naturally they have to have anything higher forced through them so you actually have to push a diode to full power so you would underpower the diode to make it not consume full powerDoes this mean 3W diodes are overkill? are we just as good with 2W? I believe 3w lights running at 1.5w put out the most light and penetrate more than a 2w running at 1.5w or even those 3w LEDs that are simply three 1 watts together under the same diode/lens. It definitely isn't overkill, you want 3w instead of 2w unless that color/spectrum/wavelength isn't available in 3wDoes this mean 3W diodes are overkill? are we just as good with 2W? 327w is too little for that money, you could get a 450w Spectra for $1300 or less and its probably a better light in every way (also good 5 year warranty). Oops, of those 2 you suggessted I would go with neither. 1w diodes are weak, and the other light charges atleast $500 more than its really worth. If your set up is large enough I would go with 3-4 180w Spectras or 2 280w Spectras, but if your space is less than 4x4 I'd settle for the 450w (I'm rocking a 450w Spectra in my 2.5ftx2.5ft tent and its awesome). growledhydro.com is a bit outdated, but the pricing and watt ratings are correct. Pictures are out of date, here is they're basic look. What do you guys think is better..?????
A Super Bright LED light with 2 and 3 watt LEDS RED/BLUE/WHITE 600watt in LED and 327watt Draw! $1500 From Stealthgrow
Or A LED light with RED/BLUE 300watt 1 Watt high efficiency and dispersion lights DRAW N/A !!!!! $1000 From Sunshine Systems
Thank you for help
