I was a big advocate of the red and blue led grow lighting for a long time. I switched over to the iSunlight leds from My Indoor Garden and the results have been really great. I have the 50 watt, 100 watt and 600 watt from them. They mix three different kelvin temps to replicate a switchable ballast full spectrum scenario. They are much better to work under or near than the red and blue and the results seem faster than older led grow lighting. Resin production is absolutelt threw the roof and the yields are very comaprable if not identical to HID. I like the customer support with them and they are decent to talk with on the phone.
If you look carefully at the PAR sensitivity graph.....you can see why the red and blue and plasma have a hard time competing with HID. HID....regardless of its efficiency downfalls is extremely useable when looking at the PAr charting....the HID (and fluorescent too) fall under, within,or just slightly out of "bounds" on the graph....while led and plasma spike off into to virtually "too much". Add the morpholigical changes that occur under red and blue leds and its easy to see why people have a hard time with them.
Ill post pics of some of my latest grow soon under the my indoor garden line. Peace
