IMO the LEDs grow just as dense and maybe even more potent (depending on your spectrum) Bud`s as the HPS, maybe a bit smaller in size (compared to the bigger HIDs +600W) but over all yield have been about the same since I switch the 600W HPS out with 470W of LEDs and penetration is about the same (at least for the LEDs with secondary lenses)

They make next to no heat, witch is a good thing for me, but a few CFLs added at the side/ends/corners of the LEDs would easily help with a bit of heat if necessary and also help on the only down side (IMO) of LEDs, the light coverages as the LEDs is pretty much one directed (agin depending on the angle of the lenses) compared to CFL/HIDs/Tube`s

And yes a scorg works great with LEDs as well as with HIDs or any artificial light

I just can't get over how led's can turn a green plant pink in a pic, that's awesome...

I just have a panel I got off Aliexpress. It is all reds and blues and I have done grows from start to finish with I have pulled plants with 3+ OZ with that light. Here are a pic of my light a plant day 19 of flower with the light on and then a pic of the plant with just the CFL on.
Where did you get your LED panel?

A bit off subject but- I have been using T5HOs for several years now even for the bloom cycle. And potting soil because it is so simple.I get about 100 grams a plant for NL and WW after 14 weeks total grow time. The heat they create --432watts total per 8 sqft cubicle--needs to be vented or the space will overheat. A 50cfs bath exhaust fan does the trick nicely in a 4lx2wx8h cubicle. Temps 65-80 in the completely enclosed cubicle-- located in an unheated basement--in winter with temps 25-60 outside. If I used LED I would probably need a space heater too, and an HID would be WAY too warm
