LED vs HPS

I'm going to run LEDs next in my 4x4 just to compare to my 630 CMH yields. It'll be nice to have a little less heat to worry about this summer, and I'm curious because I've never flowered under LED, but unless the yield is much higher, I'll prob continue to use my CMH during the winter. I admit, I am excited to compare them though.

Candles are the best indoor grow light, because they are most like the sun.

HPS lights are very good but I have just switched to a High powered LED light and it is supposed to be the equivalent of a 800 watt HPS and it's only pulling 450 watts off the mains so I would have to say LED lights are better than HPS, it's come a long way and LED is now in the lead. The only problem with a good LED light is the fact it's very expensive you can look to spend about $1,000 on a good led light

What’s a 800w hps? Are they new or something?
No, no. I mean my 450watt LED light is the equivalent to a 800watt HPS bulb. There's no such thing as a 800 Watt HPS but if there was then my LED light would be the equivalent lol the only problem with led lights is they can be very expensive.

So which HPS lamp is that efficiency based off of? Since 600w lamps are much more efficient than 250w lamps, you'd get more light from a single 600w HPS than you would from three 250w HPS lamps.
