I am sure once I get more experience I will try other methods and mediums. Right now the easiest thing to do was go soil but I have thoughts of trying coco or even just 100 percent perlite.

My options are open at this point

Yeah i'm in the same boat dude. I'm on my first grow and i choose to use an NFT hydro system. As the grow went on, i've befinately found some problem with it. That why i'm thinking about moving on to a Flood and drain system next and it'll make better use of the space i have.

I love the grow tent idea, i'm thinking of getting a smaller one for a mother and clones

Yeah I was reading your journal. Almost to the end. Loving those sativas man. Ice huh? Can not wait to see them buds when they frost up nice. See if it lioves up to its name

I love my tents. The small one can fit like 9 16 oz cups. Its 1'7" x 1'7" x 3'. Small lil tent for like 90 bucks. But I am sure you can find a slightly bigger one for cheap as well. I just need one to do 3 clones every 2-4 weeks. Works freaking great.

Quick update. Plants doing good. One of the red cups females might be a hermie. And one of the clones got dried out or burned by a cfl. It might not make it. A lesson for the future to watch young clones and seedlings.

Not much has changed. The big 4 are starting to fatten them buds. Not sure why but number 3, the one I took the clones from, is not packing on the trichomes like the other 3. It has been putting more on but is definitely lagging behind. Will be interesting to see how she finishes.

Clones looking good. The one that is all messed up I trimmed its curled leaves as they turned black. I am thinking about just pulling her. Still not sure what exactly happened but we move forward.

Few things in today's update. #9 turns out to be a hermie. Pulled it. No need to play around. The other 2 plants showed sex as female. All the plants in the flower tent are all female and I transplanted 2 to 1 gallon bags. Tent is getting close to full.

Clones doing good. Even the burned/dried out on looks like it might make it. New growth is growing. Next I took a cutting from #1. The big girl with so much trichomes. I do not want to lose these genetic. Lets hope the cutting take. I would love to use these genetics for my furture cvlones.

Moves the veg tent to 18/6. figure its less stress on the plants.

Other than that its going well.

Couple things. First I had burned/dried the top of one of the big 4. I snipped it off. Smoked it this morning. That same plant had a growth that might have been a male flower on main cola this morning. removed it. Only issue is this is the plant I took the clones from. Will see how this works out. I have other options for clones as well as some good genetics I will be getting soon. But lets hope for the best.

Buds starting to get bigger and swell up. They are starting to come along nice.

Clones also growing good. Gave them another feeding today. They are starting to look like marijuana plants and take off.

All I have to say is this is some fast flowering weed. It is day 39 of 12/12 and at best week 3 of true flowering. Buds are swelling. I think they have 3 weeks left maybe 4 but i think even 3 is a stretch. I should have a scope on Monday to check trichs. Regardless of trichs one is getting chopped in time for 4/20. So like 4/13 it will get chopped. Will cure most of that plant for 2-4 weeks. Just have a couple buds for 4/20.

4/20 will be fun this year. It also so happens to be my wife's birthday. She does not smoke but has enjoyed watching the plants grow.

The next 4 plants in the flower tent looking good. So far I am liking the 12/12 from seed.

Clones doing great. The one I burnt is really coming back together. Still no roots on the late flowering cutting. Will put the 2 big clones in flower once I am able to take 2 cuttings from each. I think another 2-4 weeks should be good for the clones. Maybe less if they start to take off. They are looking so healthy.

I can start to see the end of the tunnel for this first harvest. Wow I am almost free of buying bullshit.

Plants doing good. Buds still swelling and the next 4 are starting to get going flowering. Will be moving that last female from a red cup into a 1 gallon bag later today or tomm. In a week or so I should be able to take a couple cuttings from the bigger 2. And with in 2 weeks cuttings from my clones.

Once I can tale cuttings from the 2 big clones they will go into flower. They got a good watering today. and looking very healthy.

The cutting from 2 has yet to show roots. It might take longer than the last cuttings cause the cutting is from deep into flower.

Sorry for the late update. Decided to wait till the camera battery was charged to update.

Big 4 doing great. They are growing fast. Very frosty and smell great. Moved the last red cup to 1 gallon bags. The 4 in 1 gallon bags are doing great. They are all 12/12 from seed and doing much better than I anticipated. The 2 biggest are right about to be in true flowering. Think they will get 1 more veg nute feeding and then next feeding will be bloom nutes.

The clones are starting to take off. They still are not 100 percent growing right yet(leaf structure lil off) but still very healthy. This time next week I expect them to be likely in the 12/12 tent. Will have to find room. Might keep them in red cups for a couple weeks.

The burnt one really looking good. Looks like it will just appear to have been topped. Very surprised it survived. These plants can take a beating.

The cutting from number 2 is now on day 6. Root buds appear to be starting to form. The cutting is looking a lil rough but pretty good. After seeing the first cuttings down right look like crap I know looks are deceiving. Plenty if green foliage and some small leaves appear to actually be growing. I fell better now this cutting may take and I will be able to get the genetics from the best looking plant.

Man buds are getting fat. Smell so dank. Couple of things I noticed is that There is some variation from these plants. All from the same bagseed. The big #3 that i took the clones from has a very dense bud. It looks and grows differently than the buds from the other 3 big girls. I am sure it has to do with the it being a hybrid. the big 3 seem more indica with the speed of their bud growth while #3 seems to grow more like a sativa. But #3 seems to have a more indica bud it just grows more like a sativa. I expect #3 to take longer than the other big 3. Even looking at trichs #3's trichs are not fully developed while the other have nice fully developed trichs with some turning cloudy. It is crazy. And one of the 4 in the 1 gallon bags looks very indica. Most indi8ca any of these strain has looked. Will post pics of that one from watering today.

Now the plants are growing so good. The 4 in 1 gallon bags are doing great. Biggest 2 are almost 10 inches tall. 12/12 from seed going great.

Clones look great. They got a nice watering today and look very healthy. Not much has changed with the cutting from #2. I learned my lesson and will take 1 or 2 cuttings from every plant i grow from now on. So I give my self a chance off the bat to grab those genetics that are the best. Living and learning as I grow.

Not much to say. They continue to get thick. Took taster nuggs from couple plants. Going to be out soon and when dry if I like the high might harvest a plant. Have not decided yet.

I do know from the leaves and trimming I got mad high. So still have not decided. tired of pay any more money to bitch ass dealers.
