I think Oregon and Alaska are pretty liberal, and California is a misdemeanor for small amounts. Register to vote and every time it comes up vote for it. Eventually it will get legalized. Nevada is like, keep it private, and unless they have another reason to bust you, they aren't looking for you! Don't go to the park and light up, but in general, they have better things to do than bust pot smokers. If you shove it in their face, then Bye-Bye! If you have it in your car and are acting goofy, or breaking some other law, even like a tailight out, if you look suspicious, or are Black, they always seem to get stopped, they will take you to jail for possession. It's not a big deal, you can bargain it down to a misdemeaner, but I'm pretty sure it's still a felony!

California is a medical state, so if you have a doctor's recommendation letter, you're good to go ... as long as you stay within your county's guidelines. Other than that, cultivation is illegal. Possession of an ounce or less is treated like a traffic ticket ... maximum fine is $100.

Vi, By the way, do you have a medical grow liscence? A guy I know told me he knows a Dr. that for $150.00 will set me up for one here in Nev. My theory is, it's still illegal from the federal,0+ and with this info, they could walk right up to your house and take you away. I believe that's why, when at last look, there were only 600 liscences in the whole state!

There's no such thing as a medical grow licence ... all one need to do is to get a letter of recommendation from their doctor. I have my original in my safe at home. A copy is stapled to the inside of the door to my grow cabinet. Another copy is carried in the glove compartment of my car at all times.
As far as the Feds are concerned, I'm not worried about them in the least. I have a small, personal grow consisting of six flowering plants, no more than twelve immature plants ... and I never keep more than eight ounces of cured bud around. I DO, at times have a pound or more of "shake," but that's used for cooking, making butter and hash. As soon as I've accumulated that pound of shake, it gets turned into about a pound of Canna-butter and a nice big round ball of the best hash around. In other words, I don't violate the guidelines of my county. I don't think the Feds would be interested is such small potatoes. If the Feds ever get to the point where they are that over-reaching, then we've lost WAY more than our ability to grow a few pot plants. *lol*

In the county where I live, there is a six plant limit. County policy is that if your doctor has prescribed for more pot than the county guidelines allow, the d.a. will follow the doctor's guidelines, and decline to prosecute. Per my doctor, I am personally allowed 20 vegetative plants, 10 flowering plants, and 3 pounds processed. And if you become an official caregiver for another medicinal patient, you can also have their limit. So what I am legally allowed to have fluctuates depending on the number of patients I am serving. Most of my clientele are hospice patients, so my limits fluctuate quite a bit.
As far as the feds, it seems that they only go after MAJOR grow ops, cannabis clubs that are under fire from local authorities (they don't fuck with clubs in friendly cities,) and individuals who feel the need to be very publicly vocal about the weed issue. As for me, I keep my mouth shut, I keep it small, and I don't interact much with the clubs. AND I MAKE SURE I STAY LEGAL, at least as far as state regs go. I don't interact on any level with pot smokers who are not legal card carrying medicinal patients. Period.

You're probably right, It'd put me in a comatose state for sure, I tried 2 tokes on my premature stuff and got ripped, they say the widow is potent, I agree. The thing is, I didn't really like the high that much, kinda had paranoia flashes. I'm such a lightweight now it's ridiculous. In the "Good" old days, I could outsmoke just about anyone, Used to take Acid and toke up to get off, worked really well! I've been sober for 12 years, with nothing psycotropic in my system, so it doesn't take much, and if your stuff is that potent, I'm sure it'd rip my head off!
