Thats what i was thinking... drinking but not eating. So... not sure why that would be....All in all they look pretty good from here. I would lower the Ppms personally. With my heaviest eaters I still only ramp up to 1000-1100. If the ppms are rising then the plants are drinking water and not eating nutrients.
Ya, ph has been solid 5.7 to 6.2 and my meter is solid too. Water temp is great.I don't get the twisty leaves. That looks kinda like a reveg lol. If you pH been staying solid?
In a flood table you shouldn't have to worry about dissolved oxygen because the plants get plenty of air between floods. At least this is what I was taught.Ya, ph has been solid 5.7 to 6.2 and my meter is solid too. Water temp is great.
As i said above... the only thing i can think of is lack of oxygen in the water might be causing some nute uptake probs...

I recall you and a couple others explained that to me before. I dont doubt that, im just grasping at why the ppms seem to be rising. And i figured wth... extra aeration cant hurt so give it a try and see what happens...In a flood table you shouldn't have to worry about dissolved oxygen because the plants get plenty of air between floods. Post pics and tag me... id like to see that...That is also the principle I learned. For years I ran a air stone in my res just because. I got some slime in my res one time though and I ditched the air stone and mer looked back. Most flood trays also drain via a water fall effect that agitates the water......
That being said, I just designed something I'm gonna try. For years I've wanted to try adding air right to my pots. I think if might allow me to water the plants more times a day and potentially give them a boost in growth. I followed another growers guide and did this with soil years ago and it worked awesome.
So I designed an Air manifold that will fit directly in the bottom of my 6inch pots, and I designed a basket style pot with the manifold built in. Now I just need to get to the library and 3d print them try to them out on a couple plants.
It might be totally pointless, or it might work wonders and be a great idea. Guess I'll see.

The cords were slimy and when rub one to see some floated....Was it actual slime or were the cords just slippery?
I have only got slime in my res twice . I never pin pointed which kind of slime it was I just destroyed it lol. I ran h2o2 for a while and I never got it to work well with out dumping it in every day.
Then after running a couple tests because the idea scared me I switched to sterilizing with pool shock. It worked perfect and I never have looked back. I mostly only run it in the summer when temps are higher. My res on probably stays to cold in the winter but I don't want to fuck around adding a heater.
Anyway in the summer I mix one teaspoon of pool shock granuals into a gallon of water. Then I add 1oz of that solution per gallon in my res about every 3-4 days. Keeps things nice and clean.

Oh ya!Eh it's almost that season anyway so I bet they will have it. I noticed several local stores putting out the spring planting stock already.
