3/20/2011 - This is the start of my new grow journal where I will be growing Lemon Skunk and Wonder Woman in soil and White Widow and Northern Lights in hydro. This will be my second grow journal since my BUBBLICIOUS/BLUE MYSTIC GROW.

Right now I just wanted to get the main journal up and going. I don't have many pics right now but many HIGH RESOLUTION pics are to come throughout the grow just as I did in my last journal.

The Setup:________________________

LIGHTS: (13) 26Watt CFL bulb (18/6 on veg. 12/12 on flowering.)
ROOM: 2 veg chambers (stealth pc cases) and 1 main bedroom closet (not walk in) All the walls are covered with mylar and using just a normal fan for air flow.
NUTES: For both the soil and the hydro the plants will be getting all Fox Farm Liquid Nutrients. I run the Fox farm suggested feeding schedule but keep the solution a little more diluted, as on my last grow I found that the Fox Farm feeding schedule runs a little more powerful than the plants liked.
TEMP:The temp stays around 85 during the day and 70-75 during the night.

ALL SEEDS ARE FROM NIRVANA SEED BANK.

LEMON SKUNK PLANTED JAN 15 and I dont remember all the others... but I wrote it down somwhere so I will look it up.

Feel free to ask question/make comments... I don't mind it at all!

Enjoy this YouTube video of my newly refreshed grow closet and the new and upcoming stars of this journal!

MORE TO COME VERY SOON! INCLUDING HIGH RESOLUTION PICS!

3/26/11 - The plants are all doing very well... the soil plants are getting taller and bushier everyday and the hydro plant are doing the same with some very promising root growth. However I do have a couple new things that I have encountered that have me somewhat stumped.

1) My white widow plant is doing something pretty weird... It has stopped new growth on the main stem and instead seems to think that its 2 other main stems are the main stem... if that makes sense... is this normal? Is this basically like it has been topped??? Any help would be great! (pics are below)

2) I have come across a new bug of some sort. they are very small (not spider mite small) and somewhat resemble a lady bug but about half the size. They are brown and lighter brown spots on their back and so far have been generally easy to kill and slow moving. They have not taken over my plants or anything like that but I have started noticing a few here and there... again, any help would be most appreciated.(pic below)

I plan to keep this journal up all the way until harvest.....
Feel free to post any questions and or comments.

4/25/2011 - Sorry for the huge gap in between updates, a lot has happened since you've seen the ladies last!

As the title says, all the plants are currently in flowering now and all plants have show a lot of growth! The Lemon Skunk has been in flowering the longest and it is just now starting to show the signs of the white hairs. The plants are keeping up with the Fox Farm Nutrient Schedule (which i have tweaked).

I have encountered a new problem... The summer in nearly here for most of us and that means hot temperatures. Due to this my hydro plants (white widow and northern lights) expeierenced the beginning signs of root rot. The parts of the root there were not in the water started developing a brown slime on them. Since then I have kept my window air conditioner on at 72 and cracked the door to my closet, and all signs of root rot are gone.

To Solve the root rot I mixed a little peroxide with some water in a spray bottle and sprayed the hell out of the roots. I also did a water change everyday for about 4-5 days straight. Things seem back to normal now... its going to suck when it reaches 100 every single day!

Other than that I just put the wonder woman into flowering 2 days ago... so far she has taken it very well and has already showed signs of accelerated growth!

Sorry for the long gab in between updates... I plant (get it?) to do updates about once a week from here on out....!!!

PICS!

The pic with the main stem splitting off into 2 main stems is the white widow.... and i am excited.

Hit me up with question or comments...

5/3/11 - The plants are all on a huge growth spurt! All of them are now showing the beginning signs of budding... especially the lemon skunk (has been flowering a little longer) I got lazy this time and just took a video of the ladies... I'll probably post some pics on thurs. Let me know what you think!

5/5/2011 - Here are some pics of the plants... the bud is now starting to come in and the stink grows stronger each and every day. Other than that.... not a whole lot to tell....

5/13/2011 - The plants overall are doing very well, the lemon skunk who has been flowering the longest has really picked up on the trichome production. As for the other plants, they haven't been flowering as long but all of them have beginning signs of bud and trichomes!

As for the previously mentioned root rot, it has bee totally solved by keeping the temps at a nice 70. The hydro plants are going through an entire bucket of water every 2 days and I'm sure it will only get worse from here! The fox farm nutrients have stayed fairly the same since flowering begun except for the addition of the more nitrogen rich grow big (which the lack of was causing some leaves to yellow). Other than that I am basically just watching the slow and tedious task!

- Tomorrow I will be adding in 6 more 30watt 2700 lumen 2700kcolor temp bulbs to the closet. It seems right now that the front of the plants could use a little more light, So I am going to give it to them!

- Comments are welcomed! I can never turn down the opportunity for some feedback/tips on the grow. Just keep it respectful.

PICTURES!!! (THESE PICS ARE FROM 5/13/11 - WILL POST MORE PICS THIS WEEK SOMETIME.

Here is a quick video of some more up to date views of the ladies.... ALSO

NEW!
I added in a new digital timer, that can handle more watts as well as 6 new 30Watt CFL bulbs.... Now everything electrical is completely grounded and well below the max wattage rating.

TOTAL LUMEN COUNT IN CLOSET: 30,500lumens

more updates to come...

5/23/2011 -
The plants have slowed down in the vertical growth all around now, and you can tell the plants are starting to focus more on the bud. Some of the Lemon Skunk hairs are just starting to turn into a slight orange color, I can't wait till this stuff is done.. its gotten a nice smell goin for it too!

ROOM STATS:
WATER TEMP: 67° (F°)
AIR TEMP: 70°-74°
WATER PH: 5.4 (average)
TOTAL LUMENS: 30,500
TOTAL LIGHT WATTS: 518 (just lights)

Normal Nutes during flowering:*

  • Fox Farm Grow Big (every other week)

  • Fox Farm Tiger Bloom (every week except flush weeks during flowering)

  • Fox Farm Big Bloom (every week except flush weeks during flowering)
* The amounts change depending on the plants reactions but it tends to be around 1 - 2tsp/gal for grow big and tiger bloom, and 1 - 1.5tbl/gal for the big bloom

Been thinking of upgrading to a HPS for the end of this grow, or maybe hold off for the next grow, I would would it to have a glass lens with air coolable. Any opinions on some good ones? Let me know!

Future Upgrades:

  • 600w HPS and ballast
  • Inline air blower (for light)
  • switch to Ebb and Flow (once more space is aquired)
  • Topping and Cloning mothers and LST

6/10/2011 - Since the last update the bud has only gotten more dense and more packed with trichomes! The Lemon skunk has been losing some of its fan leaves due to yellowing but supposedly that is normal. The white widow is drinking water like crazy and the crystals have gotten crazy! The smell is really starting to present itself even with a big ass hepa filter running on high. Anyways here are some pics for your enjoyment....

6/12/11 - I was picking some of the dead leaves off of the lemon skunk and I figured while I had it out that I would take some detailed pics of it. Few dog hairs here and there but overall I am pleased with the look of it so far. Take a look for yourself.

Lemon Skunk is the furthest along by about 2 weeks and you can certainly tell. Sticky as hell!

Behold the....
Lemon Skunk.

So the White Widow shows no signs of being male and or hermied but upon closer inspection of the plant today there are seeds throughout it. Sad Day.
