COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE!
A high, is a high, is a high, as long as the voices go away, the herb has done the job! Its all about taste, i equate people judging a high like wine drinkers would judge a drunk effect. Its wine, you drink it it gets ya drunk, but the tastes! Oh man!
Same with herb, its all about taste for me, if I smoke enough of anything I'll get stupid and "stuck".

Yep! I mean, if someone doesn't grow well, and there are lots of chems in it, then it could effect things....
but growing quality and curing all being equal, I'd rather have some funky fruity strain, than just a typical strong strain.
I remember some girl once having this pineapple strain. I loved it! I never saw it again

I had some Island Sweet Skunk a few months back that, after the exhale, you were left still trying to exhale but nothing came out, my nose burnt (in the good way), the taste was EXACTLY of a Lime Lifesaver, and you would smack your lips together the way some do when waking up in the morning. I have had that strain since but not nearly as tasty, it must be the grower.

This seems to be a situation where the old saying "to each his own" applies.
Myself I see people like yourself as being far more interested in the sizzle rather than the steak and in my mind that just does not compute.
　
Pretty colors and fruity flavors are gimmicks and nothing more. They were created because some breeders could no longer advance the potency level of their strains and had to come up with something to build a customer base or to keep their customer base.
　
You said, "The high THC stuff is nice, but you can always just smoke more mids. It's these weird smelling and tasting strains that I love!"
Possibly you have a lower tolerance level for herb than many do and possibly what is a good or acceptable high or stone for you is far less than it is for others.
There are many strains that have a ceiling and once hit no matter how much you smoke you will not get any higher or any more stoned so just toking more will not always make up for a lack of quality in what is being smoked.
　
Going back to the late 60s and early 70s I was lucky enough to be able to get real true 100% landrace Dalat from Vietnam.
It was not pretty and it was not fruity and it did not taste like candy or couch drops but one hit would knock most tokers on their butts.
I saw real true hardened party commandos who took two or three tokes who then around 10 or 15 minutes later said they were to high and needed to go to bed and go to sleep. These guys were no lightweights by any means but it was so far beyond anything they had ever smoked that they could not handle it.
It was not a paranoiac reaction. It was just a, I am to high to be able to think or function reaction. With the ceiling many strains have you could smoke an ounce and never get that high.
　
To me high/potency equates to quality and not a fruity or candy-like or cough drop-like flavor and or odor and most definitely not pretty colors.
　
But to each his own.

that was the beauty of lemon skunk i thought..
still, smell is secondary. the lemon skunk i grew litterally smelled like puke, it was that strong. it was also super potent and a great high. i really don't know why, but i always considered lemon skunk to feel the most like being drunk, without all the nasty side effects. I just really liked the taste/smell of it, too.
that may or may not have been because of the high itself

Well, I guess I should send an update on my Lemon Skunk Seeds from Jordan of the Isles from Vancouver.
I germinated 5 of the 10 we purchased, and 4 cracked open.
Included are the pictures of the four.
I have to say these genetics are amazing, now having grow from seed and cloned from mothers, I now have a better understanding of how important good genetics can be, these rock!
These four have been in Veg. for about 4 weeks, and I am going to flip to 12/12 to determine sex. Once I know the sex, I'll kill the males and flip back to 18/6 for a month or so and then make clones for a late summer harvest
I will keep an update in this thread.

Out of 10 Lemon Skunk Seeds I have had 4 germinate. Those 4 are not growing. Little taproot / cracked seed, but no growth. It has been over a week with two of those. Seeds are from these guys http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/ This company I have to warn yall about. The Credit Card I used was raped by UK entities soon after the purchase.

No m8 im using 1x 20ltr nft under a 400 grow lux using canna nutes. All from cuttings i only grow 3 plants under hps/ halide and 3 vegging in another 20 ltr nft under 250 halide..nice and easy a straight swap over. I got just under 10 oz from 3 great white last grow, dont think ill get this much this time as when they vegging the heat was high- late 30's early 40's but now a fairly constant 25-28. Did a flush last feed they are chucking loads back into the resevoir measured 2.8 on EC last night but to be honest like the shark they can take a kicking ill give em a low feed for the next 2 and then flush n chop. Really looking forward to the smoke, the ammount of trichs is fantastic and the smell although in waves is a real joy!

This is the 2nd time I've ordered Lemon Skunk..The 1st time I just cloned the shit out of it probably like more than 20 times, was noticing that the strain was getting a little weak, so I ordered all brand new seeds. I tell you no word of a lie this strain right here, hands down is for the real smoker..The real person that can appreciate the cannabis plant..And by the way if your using Canna products your doing the right thing..More pics to come as they get older..Flowering in 1 week..
