Bonjour
So there's no reflector with just a glass to protect...!
The angelina have only a lens to cover it...I don't really like the idea to cover my cob with anything!
So it will be just a reflector...but I guess I will wait because the beam angle I would choose now with the small amount of cob I have would not be the same than the one I will choose in a few month when I will have 1 cob over each sq/ft...!??
If I have to buy some now it will be the kb 90º...but with 1sq/ft it will be 45º if it exist...it will be good for penetration.!
Have a great day ★

magnetic glass lenses? no clue will have to lookup
I was referring to this type of lens. photo credit @SupraSPL

...seems to me magnets adapted to a lens holder with screws and nuts...i imagine the powerful mini magnets (from a recicled CD / DVD player or Pc hard disks ;)) glued to hs and the head of the screw its the other part of magnet atraction...or similar way...:eyesmoke:...lot of diferent ways to use magnets with lens holder... ;-)

...vid are only for examples or ideas...

pd.... merry christmas and happy new year for all bros...

:peace:

How do we put this on an IDEAL holder?
Do we have to un install the holder before...so change the TIM!?
Or it is possible without remove the holder?
It is very cheap so I will take some for each of my cob to try...it would be perfect if he had a piece of glass (not a lens!)to cover it and close the reflector to be able to spray in my growbox!

You need adapter which is 2 separate screws I think they are 1 dollar or so

For the reflector you can just remove 2 screws of cob holder, no need to remove ideal holder. Then align reflector adapter on the ideal holder and then put back the 2 screws. You may want to hold the holder down to avoid the holder lock from releasing cob. I have had the holder jump out. I was able to re-attach the ideal holder from a COB on heatsink without changing the TIM. Just had to be careful to make sure holder sits and locks properly when i put it back on cob.

If you you already have a working lamp then KB lens not so easy because you may have to drill/tap holes for lens and size may be an issue. Reflector is easy to attach if you have ideal holder already.
On previous page i have a list of adapters with pic. F13671_ANGE-RZ-LENS is plastic cover, it just diffuses light and covers cob. It has 5-7% loss but you can spray in your growbox.
Plain glass would have losses too, might as well use a glass lens to focus the beam a little.

Jerry actually sells reflector adapter for $1 and $0.80 for his reflector. So his reflector is actually cheaper than reflector adapter.

So I would need the reflector adapter!
It is not possible without?
I am going to add some to my future panels...cause I guess more you have cob more you need to focus your lights and because I think I will decrease power too so more penetration will be welcome!
Do you think the angelina lens would fit on the kb reflector?
And do you know how much is it and where to buy it?
Thanks!

i think it is possible to mount the reflector adapter with a good tape on the COB holder.
I did it and it seems that is no problem, a good tape should wear the reflector adapter and reflector.

Thanks but I prefer to reapply new TIM
than add piece of tape...and all this glue near heat it will make toxic gas in my growbox...lol!
But since I am happy with my panels the way they grow...I will only add it to the new one...so it will be 4 3500ºk with and 5 without to see the difference!

Hehe, I was hoping for some info on Jerry's new reflector. Im thrilled to have procrastinated my purchase for so long. The Hamlet pathology is finally paying off. Im looking forward for the results, although I will probably buy them anyway! Thank you, though! Great stuff!

I'm glad Jerry is making these available at a reasonable price. There is no reason Ledil reflectors are 8-10$ each...

Sure there is a reason.
People will pay that much. It's as simple as that.
If there is no competing product, they can charge whatever they want.

what woudl be the point in using a 90 degree lens on a cob though?(vs the 115 with none)

ok so i mean in like a tent

ofcourse with a walk way it would be useful or when hanging from high ceilings

About 90º lens I guess I will use some on the sides cobs...!
To keep the light focus on the plants!
It will increase penetration too...more cob you have more it make sens to add reflector or lens!
It is the same if you run your cob low...you will need more penetration so you will want to focus the lights...!
And at the price Jerry sell it...about 2$ with the adapter...it is almost a gift!

That's the price point that makes sense for a bit of plastic. Anyone try them yet?

Ledil F13838 Reflector and Kingbrite's KB-D82-90RF Reflector
Tested on cxb3590 cd 3500k 1.39amps with 50-2303CR holder and 50-2300AN reflector adapter

Left: Kingbrite's KB-D82-90RF $0.80
Right: Ledil F13838 Reflector $4-$10

LEDIL reflector is thinner plastic, more flexible so locks easily. KB-D82-90RF is slightly more thick and takes just a little longer to fit.
The outer size is the same for both reflectors. The ledil has rings/steps that are missing on KB-D82-90RF. The width of base(as highlighted in red) is more in KB-D82-90RF, which means reflector walls angle is more, which means more center focused.

2x2.png
Measurements taken with an average of 2 samples of KB and Ledil
The readings outside the 1x1 were almost the same.
inside the 1x1, the KB-D82-90RF has slightly more light in center, Ledil F13838 has a more evenly distributed light.
Reflectivity looks about the same. Hard to test if reflectivity will degrade faster for any of the two.

Ledil seems better due to more even light distribution.
But the light distribution differences are small and the price difference is huge. KB-D82-90RF looks like a great cheep option. You can always swap them out with original Ledil reflectors if you do not like KB

Can you do the same but using lens? Or will be the same gains with lens or reflectors?

Thanks In Advance.
