Let's see how (ideally oregon) people feel about Prop 91 shall we?

So, I just posted that I thought the majority of people in this subthread support legalization (ala prop 91) but honestly, I don't know as most people are quite quiet. So here is your chance to have your voice be heard WHILST remaining quiet.

Simple question, how will you be voting come november? (poll runs until the day before the election)

Heh, since I assume you and I are the only ones who have voted I think it's fair to say it's not statistically relevant. My guess is we'll be lucky to see 40 votes by november.

Mind you, perhaps statistically WE are the only two really active Medical:OR people, in which case.... yeah it's valid

I preferred measure 80. Sucks it didn't pass. This is not the best bill but it's better than nothing

Yeah, 80 was better, but it was sunk by the people that want all or nothing.... They seem to have issues understanding that it will take many steps to reach decriminilization, and that legalization is a very good first step. I worry that once again those voters will fuck us, but hope that with the way this measure is written we'll get enough votes from the sensible drug policy and libertarians that it will pass despite the sheriffs spending 100k to stop it (god knows there's not a better place in the police force for that money...)

I am cheered up considerably seeing the 5:1 current ratio of yes votes though

The news as of lately have been negative on this. Sick of seeing one sided news. I sure hope this pass's.

You can count on my vote for it. Like DG said the news has been so twisted on the topic. So I went in and registered to vote for the very first time. And I plan on volunteering to help spread the word.

I could never understand why they would feel like legalizing it is putting it in the hand of children. I see it as this legalizing it allows us to properly educate ourselves and our children on the matter. Plus I'm tired of living in a world shaded in grey. It would be nice to go bong shopping and call it such.

I think it has been fun just looking at how many "Legal" grows are around. There is one right in the middle of my home town that is big! I bet the police in this podunk town hate it.

not time for it to be legal. they are just starting to ok dispensaries in most towns, why would they legalize it now.

Final bump to remind all you stoners that you just have *4* more days to register (online) to vote if you have not already done so in Oregon. Oregon is one of the few states that works fairly hard to allow everyone to vote who are not in prison. Even if you're a felon seeing a parole officer you can vote in this state. (sorry, just a reminder in case any people have previously been caught with marijuana and are surfing the medical area).

Be well, and once again no matter what your party or opinions are, *vote*. We're lucky to be in one of the few places that doesn't even require us to go anywhere (stamp acquiring withstanding) to vote. Right, time to check the oil and think about sleep.

Woot, I have now voted (yet again) to legalize marijuana. That makes 2 yes votes from this household, that's all I can do. Now I can go back to ignoring the political adverts, hope you guys all get a chance to vote

My better half and I voted yes. I'll keep my medical recertification in December. I just hope they will not make medical program worse. I donate a lot to some low income people. Worried they will match it to everyone else in future.

Re: the debate, I can't believe the anti legalization person claimed people died from cannabis, even if he retracked it after the fact. They're truly desperate (mind you, I can understand why the sheriffs are, as they stand to lose a good chunk of civil forfeiture property / money from cannabis busts.)
