I have the same little unit in my gun safe works surprisingly well considering I grow indoors and have aquariumsPics of my seed hoarde, and my storing.
Yep that's exactly where I found this guy was in the gun safe section! Handy little thing, but "hot" tip.. dont leave them plugged it for extended periods of time or they will melt... I learned this the hard way!I have the same little unit in my gun safe works surprisingly well considering I grow indoors and have aquariums
I was planning on doing this but above someone had mentioned that the humidity inside a mini fridge can get very high, also I was under the impression you want them in the dark, but you have a glass front there. Sounds like you have been doing this a few years though and no issues. Good to know!Long term seed storage - mini fridge. Been doing this for a few years now. Keeps the magic beans fresh!

This thread breaks my heart because back in the 70's, I had a half gallon jar that was full of all kinds of landrace seeds,,,Oaxacan, Columbian, Acapulco Gold, Panama Red...maybe even a Thai seed or two...All of them got thrown out because back then if you got caught with something like that, it was a prison sentence...got scared and threw them out....damn.
I did something similar at a Rainbow Gathering over a decade ago. I entrusted my collection to some dude from Oregon who I thought I could trust who was bugging out early due to law enforcement going particularly nuts that year. I had my family with me and I thought the risk too great, and he promised to meet up afterwards. Never could get ahold of him. Kick myself about once a month still, but not so much anymore.
I only had it all with me due to being essentially homeless at the time, with young kids. Hard times...
