You're gonna want to get all the CCT so people get what they want if you do end up doin it. And also, I'd be safe to say I think most people would want the 100w cobs.. not the 50w.
Well it all depends on your setup, but yes the 100COB is top.
As for CCT 3500K is by far the most popular.
Would like to get a Vote Going on what CCT people want.

Ok so I will post the datasheets for both the 50w and the 100W. Both from different manufacturers due to price points.
The 50W is much easier to read and the 100W does not have the currents so Ill list them.
I had the datasheets translated via Skype with manufacturers to get the numbers as some currents are not listen in 100W.
I will be testing these.
If all is well, ill be picking up quite a few. What CCT are people mainly interested in? I myself want 3500K.
Will be easier to make available in America at cost no markups.
Waiting on a response from the 50W company about the 100W COB as a better price possibly around 6USD.
Take everything here with a grain of salt until tested but looks good so far.

LEGIT, gimme 30 of them please.

These are honestly very similar to CXB... if they truly perform as stated, I'll be using them from here on out. But if the 100W really are $8 compared to $3 10, I don't see many people buying em. Might as well do 2x 50W and get more spread. . But they're both 34.8 forward voltage? Well.. 34.8/ 34-40.

forward voltage vs current curve (29ish-33V) does not match datachart which lists 36-40V.

would be good to get a better V vs I curve to accurately calc lumens/watt.

looks to be over 150 lm/W @ 1200 mA, if in fact voltage is under 36V as listed on chart
if we use the ~29V@1200mA (wtf is that Y axis logarithmic or something?), then we are at 29V*1.2A=34.8W, with 6250 lm that is 179 lm/W which would put them jsut above a BB on a 3070 and close to a CD bin 3590

its prob so efficient because its really so blue.... 4000 and 5000K 3590s are pushing into DD bin now which are well over 200 lm/W in the 35W range

need more/better data on the 100W cheapies

a 4000K DB 3590 is 160 lm/W @ 85W, at about $40 per in bulk, $0.47/W

these are 160 lm/W @ 23W, at $8 thats $0.35/W

with the rumored bin jump and price drop those crees could be $0.40/W by end of the year, also that $40 per 3590 is not 1000 qty which is prob down into the mid $30s, so the gap closes quickly, esp if the cheapies have such a wide color range, '3000-3500K', doesnt sound like the tolerances are all that tight

ok i ran the numbers for cree- somebody else do some $/W at 160 lm/W for vero 29s and citizens....

I did citizens. They put 50% @ 1A (35w) for $12. That's retail price. I imagine even better if you can get them in bulk.

which is similar to a 5000K 3590. that datasheet specifically says the CCT is 3000-3500K. hard to put a lot of faith in a company that has som much conflicting data on their datasheets

lets talk apples to apples on install here
both crees and veros have handy solderless connectors for pennies per watt

these must be soldered. what is your time worth? what about people who arent comfortable soldering?

whats a realistic cost per solder joint? based on skill set and amount of cobs you might destroy in the process it might be a buck or two per solder joint and now your $8 cobs cost 10-20% more......

what about the fact for a given efficacy we are only getting 1/3 of the wattage? thats 3X the solder joints, 3x the drilling and tapping, etc.

the 3590s look more attractive by the minute when you look at all the factors. why not try to get a cree acct so you can buy 1000 lots at $30 instead?

no I was looking at the 50 watt. cri 80. your right that's obviously the wrong chart.

Just herd back about the other 100W COB with a much better datasheet.

They seem to not have 1400ma or .7ma listed but its a good starting point.
Plus they are much cheaper at 6.75USD per COB / 8.75 CAD.
For the price these COBS could be very good run low at .7 and get very high lumens and not break the bank.
This COB seems much better and the data sheet is much better.
