Lets try round 2!

So as some of you might recall, I started my first legal indoor grow about 3 week-ish ago. I had 4 skywalker OG's and the day they broke soil, a freaking mouse ate them THAT NIGHT. Thats also the same time i discovered I had a mouse problem, and anger issues.
:cuss::fire:

Any-who, long story short, I reordered seeds (a 5 pack of Girl Scout Cookies). waited around for 2 weeks to receive them and now, here we are! Round 2, & though I believe I have resolved my mouse issues, still moving forward but with caution. I only germinated 2 of the 5. I also started a random bag seed I had laying around and started it 2 weeks ago to give it a head start against my GSC. So I have 3 going ATM. But planning on taking clones from the GSC to fill my 6 plant limit for my next cycle.
Sorry so purple. :bigjoint:
Only using 1 of 2 of my 900W LED's ATM and may use it the entire grow. With only 3 plants growing not sure i'll need the second one.. Suggestions?

I cant wait to see what this room looks like in a couple of months!!!!!
BTW underneath the tarp is a wooden ramp used for loading and unloading I.T server racks on and off pallets. It creates a PERFECT water fall effect for when I transplant these girls into their final 3 gal fabric pot and set them on it. That long black box you see in the pic will go under the ramp at the very end to catch the water as it drains down into the troft, where a pump will pump it into a 5 gallon bucket. It does lift the end of the ramp but not enough to negate the level of the ramp, water will still flow down hill. So what do you guys think of my very first indoor grow setup. It's not perfect by any means, but I think it will suffice for what I am looking for. :bigjoint::blsmoke:bongsmilie

This is the back side view of my grow room. Inside that door is my homes HVAC and water heater. I have cut a hole in my wall so I can keep the door closed, but ran the dryer duct through the hole and added it to my homes central heat and air. Temps range from between 73-84.
again, sorry so purple. but you get the idea.

so what do you guys think? any suggestions, and ideas?

My friend uses a bunch of those same size blurples and has maybe one or two under that light but he grows large 6oz bushes so depends how tall and wide you get them. Looks good though just started legal growing here too but been growing not so legal for a while now lol

Looks nice and clean! I hung that shiny vinyl on the walls too but I had too many problems with it. It created hot spots with my lights (probably ok with blurples). I also found it difficult to clean and its already hard enough to motivate my wife to clean my grow room. :p
Its white paint from now on for me.

No need to apologize for "The Colour Blurple" - they are not COB or HID lighting - but they can grow weed. By following some of the basic growing fundamentals, I pull over 3/4 lb. each harvest with two 600 W blurples in a 2 x 4 tent.

So will you need the 2nd one? I am thinking yes - but a couple of questions will tell us.
  1. How large of a grow area were you looking to use?
  2. Do you know what the true wall wattage is for that 900 W LED?

My actual real growing space is about a five-by-five by 8' tall and my true wattage from the wall is about 345 each.

If you want to use that entire 5 x 5 - you are gonna need both of them. Both lights in a 5 x 5 = 27.6 w/sq. ft. A bit on the low side as far as wattage per sq. foot. If you forego the outer 6" of the grow space, 43 w/sq. ft which is getting into the sweet spot.

Just curious - who makes those blurples?

MEIZHI,
And yeah I knew I would need both my 900's if I was going to utilize my entire grow space. But since this 1st round I'll only be growing 3 plants so I'm curious if I can get away with one light, at least maybe till flower and I'll add the 2nd one. I imagine I will probly add my 2nd one at some point during this 1st grow.

Meizhi are one of the better blurple manufacturers.

Were it my tent, I would use both of the lights and train them during veg to use almost all of the 5 x 5 space. Were you planning on doing some type of plant training?

Maybe not as heavy training with only 3 plants but certainly in the future will be using cropping and LST with trellis net. With this 1st grow we will see how it goes but cropping for sure with mild LST .

Sounds like this grow is going to be more experimental - that's the best way to learn. Clip 'n bend those girls to your whims, Dog!!

On your next grow, think SCROG. I will confess that I am a bit biased towards the SCROG method but my yields with it have been pretty good. And I still recommend using both of your lights so you won't restrict the size of your grow space.
