Lifted LED grow lights

They're not making any outrageous claims on their site so that's a plus.
Very pricy though and you have no idea what LED brand/model they're using.

Pacific light concepts is probably a much better alternative.

LEDs don't really get more efficient than the Cree CXB cobs and Pacific uses those cobs.

Tastyled and a few others also sell fixtures with CXB cobs.

I have my eye on both that you mentioned. But I'm still shopping an still aways away from pulling the trigger... so keeping an eye on a lot of options...

To me... price won't matter much.... as such will be recovered. Just want to make sure about quality....

@Gquebed

I can only imagine, although if you're sporting (and paying for) the good stuff, you won't forget to include those details.

Worthy of noting, the company is based out of New Mexico of all places.

I emailed these guys asking what brand leds they use because I thought they look cool and might be legit, and surprise....

They can't disclose that info because it's part of their "proprietary design" and it was hard work and took a long time to determine the right mixture...

Yeah I've heard that song before. Cannot recommend these for that statement alone.

and that's GAME OVER............as always, if their using top group/ bin diode(s) from reputable manufacturers it would be plastered all over their website/product info.

Just curious on this, did Apache ever disclose all of the info on their led's publicly?

yes, through tags420 @ the time, different market back then...........companies are expected to be more forthcoming now, I'm sure apache would give you all the details through an email in the past and now.

"proprietary" BS puts liftedled automatically in the Lush, hydroponic hut, platinum, black dog,etc class IMO

How can a light mixture even be "proprietary design"?
You put a light spectrum meter under it and you have the complete spectrum figured out, why do they go so far to hide it on their site unless... they use shitty diode brands

I wonder what percentage of the market even knows to ask these questions. I think it will be a while before the average small-scale buyer gets beyond comparing who has the coolest looking light, the best looking website, and makes the most impressive claims.

I'd like to see Tastyled and Pacific Light Concepts (et. al.) impact if their websites showed up higher in search engine responses -- in other words, if someone searched for "LED grow lights" or "COB LED grow lights", and a real builders website was alongside the makers with big marketing budgets. I imagine that once potential buyers eyes are open to the world of individual parts quality, that would change the playing field. I'd love to see it become the industry standard. Eventually not listing your components would be like a PC maker not listing what processor they are using.

You forgot to include those charlatan$ at Apache in your list sir:

"This light is a direct replacement for all 1000W HIDs and has our unique and patented color spectrum that includes our multi-spectral white chip with two rows of our enhanced red."
Bastards. I knew it! You guys should send me all your Apaches and I'll put the hammer to them! You don't see Mars making ridiculous claims like those tools at Apachetech do. :P

So would most here agree that Apache is still the benchmark to beat even with DIY cobs?

Here's my thing with Apache, it's strong points aren't only found on a datasheet. First off white Nichias (still the #1 LED maker in the world I believe), are in a competely different leauge compared to all other whites. No one makes whites like Nichia and if you do you get your assed sued off, all over the world, see Everlight and quite a few others. And they cost a premium. And you can buy Nichias, straight from Nichia in this country, but if you want top bins you better have a good working relationship with the salesperson you're dealing with, otherwise you are getting what is given to you and ApacheTech will always have the highest bins and latest revisions. You're also paying for Apache's custom optics, expertise and level 1 support. Someone just got an Apache with the wrong lenses and they sent them the right ones, next day, free of charge. It's a serious, hi-end light and the people who have used them to grow weed LOVE them, and not in the "I bought this so it must be great" LOVE.
Better than a COB? Probably not on paper but I can't imagine an Apache not producing as well if not better, especially than the average person's DIY design.

Check out Heavenbright, Area 51, Go Green and Johnson LEDs as well. If you are not stuck on the idea of cobs you should also check out fluence. All good lights and they all grow dope....some more expensive than others but lights pay for themselves at the end of the day hehehe.
